HARRISON, JOAN PINAIRE, 75, of Louisville, passed away on January 15, 2012.

She was born in Louisville on December 5, 1936, daughter of the late Marvin and Ada Pinaire. She graduated from Shawnee High School in 1954 and received a B.A. in elementary education from Shepherd University, West Virginia in 1958. She also received a Master of Arts degree from Western Kentucky University in 1976. Joan was an excellent science teacher at Norton Elementary, Louisville, for 30 years and later was a business executive with Pinaire Lithographing Corp. for many years.
She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Douglas C. Harrison; two daughters, Dianne H. Timmering (George E. Jr. ) and Linda H. Risen (Marc). She also has two granddaughters, Robyn Taylor (Shane), and Laura Corum of Hollywood, CA. Joan also enjoyed her 17-month old great-granddaughter, Lola Klare Taylor and was anxiously awaiting the arrival of great-granddaughter number two, Samantha Dax Taylor, who will fittingly be born on Derby Day. Joan "Manny" will welcome her from her heavenly station. She is also survived by her nieces, Susan Pinaire Breece, Marla Lynn Pinaire, and Lauren Joan Pinaire Mitchell; and her nephews, Stephen Pinaire and Marvin E. Pinaire III, and all their families.
She was preceded in death by her brothers Marvin Edward Pinaire (Marilyn) and Marvin Edgar Pinaire Jr. (Toni).
A memorial visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m.-noon Friday with a celebration of Joan's life to follow at St. Johns United Methodist Church, 12700 West US Hwy 42, Prospect, KY. Arrangements by Market Street Chapel, Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Homes, New Albany, IN.
