BOND, ORIN BURHL SR., 86, passed away April 26, 2012 in Louisville.

He was born in Shelbyville, KY, to James Ralph Bond Sr. and Helen Cornelia Porter Bond.
He attended Anchorage High School, where he was a member of the football team.
After serving in the U.S. Merchant Marines during World War II, he began his business career by purchasing St. Matthews Cab Company. He founded and operated Louisville 2-Way Radio, Radio Page and RCS Communications.
He was a member of Beargrass Christian Church and enjoyed traveling and maintaining the property at his home, Holly Gate Farm.
Mr. Bond was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 60 years Norma Ruth Ellingsworth Bond, and his only sibling James Ralph Bond Jr.
He is survived by his children Perry Porter Bond, Dr. Orin Burhl Bond Jr. and Mary Helen Bond Myles (John David); His grandchildren Brook Whitney Bond (Amy), Jennifer Ann Bond and James Robert Bond; and a great-granddaughter, Whitney Catherine Bond.
He is also survived by a sister-in-law Martha "Jane" Brangers, several nieces and nephews and special friends and extended family Alison B. Woodcock and Rebecca Driskell.
A private graveside service will be held. Ratterman's Lexington Road., is in charge of arrangements.
