SHELBYVILLE - Hackney, James W. Jr., 62, died peacefully at his Shelbyville home on August 8, 2012.

Born on November 7, 1949, he lived a full and passionate life - ministering to thousands during his career in Kentucky State Government and most recently at Fed/Ex Kinko's on Hurstbourne Lane.
He is survived by his wife, Colleen Stratton - Hackney; son, James W. Hackney III; daughter-in-law, Angela Hackney; many loving brothers and sisters, extended family and friends.
Preceding him in death were his mother, Irene J. Hackney-Franklin; his father, James William Hackney Sr. and his half brother Robert Hackney.
The funeral will be held at Shannon's Funeral Home in Shelbyville at 11 a.m. Saturday. Burial will follow at Grove Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be at Shannon's Funeral Home on Friday, from 4-9 p.m.
