WHITFIELD, JAMES F., 69, of Prospect, KY, died at his home on November 17, 2012.
Jim was born in Louisville on October 23, 1943. He was a graduate of Shawnee High School and Western Kentucky University. Jim retired from Jefferson County Public Schools, serving more than 30 years at Southern High School. He was a longtime member of Crestwood United Methodist Church and an avid golfer at the Oldham County Country Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Margaret Whitfield.
Jim is survived by his wife of 47 years, Ann Pitchford Whitfield; daughter, Christina Whitfield (Mark McGuire); son, David Whitfield (Julie Ullman); granddaughters, Elizabeth and Emma McGuire; brother, Bob Whitfield (Dottie); sister, Carol Casey (Tom); aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, at Crestwood United Methodist Church. Visitation will be Tuesday, 3-8 p.m. at Stoess Funeral Home, Crestwood; and 10-11 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial will be at a later date in Scottsville, KY.
