BAKER, ELIZABETH KATHERINE BREITENSTEIN, 97, passed away on January 16, 2013 in Sunnyvale, CA.

She was born on September 23, 1915, in Louisville with parents Michael and Minnie Breitenstein; she graduated from Girls' High School as valedictorian, received a B. A. from the University of Louisville, and an M.A. in mathematics from the University of Wisconsin. In 1938 she married James Gilbert Baker of Shelbyville and Louisville, who predeceased her in 2005.
She is survived by loving children, Kirby A. Baker of Los Angeles, CA, Dennis G. Baker of Ann Arbor, MI, Neal K. Baker of Annapolis, MD and Brenda S. Baker of Los Altos, CA; their spouses; seven grandchildren and stepgrandchildren; three great-grandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, and cousins in Kentucky and elsewhere. Known for her positive and enthusiastic nature, she will be much missed by all who knew her.
A memorial service will be held on February 9, 2013 at 1 p.m. at the University Club, 200 E. Brandeis Ave., Louisville. Burial will be in Bedford, NH at a later date.
