HEATON, LEE JOSEPH, 86, of Louisville, died Saturday, March 16, 2013 in Louisville.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 44 years, Rebecca "Becky" (Dorsey) Heaton, granddaughters, Karen and Brandy Vertrees, and his constant canine companion, Miss Lottie.
He was preceded in death by his mother and step father, Inez and Ed Wurster; and his father Clyde Heaton, daughter Gloria Heaton Lewis, son and daughter in law Mike and Nancy Heaton and grandson Jonathan Heaton.
A member of the Moose Lodge, Lee worked at Ford Motor Company for 30 years, retiring in 1985. He loved dancing, playing the piano and enjoyed composing original music. He was an artist, working with stained glass, oil painting and restoring antique cars. He graduated from St X and was a US Army veteran, serving in World War II, and was a lifetime member of the VFW. His ready smile and sense of humor will be missed by numerous friends and acquaintances.
Visitation will be at Shannon Funeral Home, Main Street, Shelbyville, KY, from 1-2 p.m. on Monday. Memorial services will follow at 2 p.m..
