YOUNG, ROBERT ALAN, 61, passed away calmly in his home in Kingwood, TX on Monday, March 18, 2013. Cancer took his life. Bob was born February 12, 1952 in Louisville, KY. He graduated from Jeffersontown High School in 1970 in the first class of the "new" high school. He played football, basketball, and ran track, and attended Brevard College on a track scholarship. He later transferred from Brevard to the University of Kentucky where he graduated in 1974 with a degree in engineering. He married his high school sweetheart, Gaye Moser, in 1973. Over the years, Bob worked as an engineer for Shell Oil Company, Apache Oil Company, and the US Treasury Department. Bob was that rare type of engineer who also had excellent people skills. He felt there was always a reasonable, fair solution to any problem if you just worked at it long enough. He had a passion for travel, having taken many trips to Europe over the years. He loved good wine, golf, Kentucky basketball, and spending time with friends and family.
