BAYER, WILLIAM G. "SKEETS," 90, of Prospect, passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at his home.
He was born April 3, 1923 in Louisville, the son of William G. and Mary Frances Aulbach Bayer, Sr.
"Skeets" was a master carpenter and had worked as a superintendant for Lichtefeld Construction, Kister Woodworking and Banta Construction.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Valda Bayer; two daughters, Donna Houk Bright (Don) and Rebecca Houk; four grandchildren, Charles Embry, Christopher Schooling, Stacey Steele and Aaron Bright; six great-grandchildren, Andrew, Maegan and Wyatt Steele, Krystal and Amber Embry and Riddick Schooling; one sister, Judy Martin; a sister-in-law, Bert Bayer; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Art, Jake and Frank Bayer.
A celebration of "Skeets" life will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 1, 2013 in the chapel of Arch L. Heady and Son at Westport Village, 7410 Westport Rd. Burial will follow at St. Michael Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. 7 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
