CORYDON - Chanley, James L. "Jim" Sr., 76, passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at his beloved "Camp Bubby" in old Leavenworth.
He was a retired motorcycle police officer with the Louisville Metropolitan Police Department, was a former police officer with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department and the Los Angeles Police Department, was a member of the Louisville Metropolitan Police Officers Association and the National Fraternal Order of Police River City Lodge #164, was a member of the Leavenworth Presbyterian Church and was a U.S. Army veteran. Jim was an avid University of Louisville fan and he loved to ride his motorcycle and spend his time at "Camp Bubby".
Survivors include his children, James L. "Jim" Chanley, Jr. (Lisa), Bonita J. Tong (Mike), Valarie T. Mullins (Luke), Elizabeth A. Page (Tim) and Candy Sue Neblett (Morris); eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; his brothers, Donnie, Bob and Bill Chanley; and his sisters, Alice Pellman and Brenda Summers.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 23, 2013, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Saturday and after 12 Noon Sunday.
