CLAYCOMB, WALTER L., 76, of Prospect, passed away Monday at his home.

He was a Navy veteran who served two tours of enlistment achieving the rank of Petty Officer First Class. He was a Radarman aboard the USS Independence, CVA62 and a member of the American Legion Zachary Taylor Post 180. He was a systems programmer for the old L & N Railroad, a former employee of Humana, Blue Cross & Blue Shield, and a scout master for Boy Scout Troop # 109.

He is survived by his wife, Charlene Claycomb; children, Teresa Claycomb Reichenbach, Joel Claycomb, Rebecca Claycomb, and granddaughter, Crystal Merreighn.

Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at St. Christopher Catholic Church in Radcliff with burial in Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Thursday, June 27, 2013 at Ratterman Funeral Home, 3711 Lexington Rd. in St. Matthews.
