JOHNS, FREBURT, 93, passed away on September 26, 2013.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Louise Karem Johns; brother, Neff Johns; and five sisters, Sophie Thomas, Della Schmid, Mary Selby, Mayme Gaddie, and Carrie George.

Freburt Johns was a proud member of St. Michael Orthodox Church.

Freburt and Louise owned and operated Loufre's / Johns Restaurant for 19 years, in which his specialty was his famous chili recipe. Freburt was a World War II Army Veteran, and proud to be a part of the "Greatest Generation".

He is survived by five children, Elaine Robinson (Kent), Sherry Spence, George Johns, Kevin Johns (Karol), and Walter Johns (Diane); six grandchildren, Andrew Spence (Jennifer), Ellen Spence Smith, Alexander Johns, Anthony Johns, Matthew Johns and Kristina Johns; and three great-grandchildren, Chloe Goff and Langan and Charlotte Smith.

The funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, September 30, 2013 at St. Michael Orthodox Church, at the corner of Hikes Ln and Furman Blvd., with burial to follow at Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Sunday at Ratterman and Sons Funeral Home, 3800 Bardstown Road, with Trisagion prayers at 5 p.m.

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the caregivers at Louisville Oncology, The Forum at Brookside, Norton Brownsboro Infusion Center and Hosparus for their loving care and support they provided for both Freburt and his family.

Expressions of sympathy can be made to St. Michael Orthodox Church and or Hosparus.
