George Emont Obituary
George was born in Granville, OH in 1958. He was a graduate of Oberlin College and received an MBA from the University of Chicago. George was a managing partner of Triathlon Medical Ventures as well as Kentucky Seed Capital Fund and a member of The Temple. He was a thoughtful and exceptionally kind man whose quiet nature belied a brilliant mind. George was a wonderful husband and an extraordinary father. His family will remember him always for his good humor, his amazing cooking, his "bad" jokes, his love, and support. George loved to travel, to try new recipes and to spend time with his family.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Marietta Gruenbaum Emont.
He is survived by his wife, Jill Preminger of Louisville; daughter, Margo Emont of Ann Arbor, MI; son, Jacob Emont of Washington, DC; his father, Milton Emont of Haverford, PA; and brother, Carl Emont of Jersey City, NJ.
Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at The Temple. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in George's name can be directed to The Temple, the Polycystic Kidney Disease Foundation or The Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.

To the Emont family,
I just learned of your tragedy. George will be sorely missed. He and I had a great conversation this past summer when he was in Chicago for the MHIN meeting. We walked along Navy Pier and discussed the state of the venture industry. I will always remember the conversation. I will always remember what a delightful person he was. Jill, so sorry for the loss to you and your children. George was on our board at the African-American Venture Capital Fund. He was one of the nicest people I have ever met professionally. Since our org dissolved he was always available to meet, talk and try to help. Great man. RIP George.

I will miss George very much. George taught me to always give people the benefit of the doubt. This was just one aspect of his kindness to others. He was a treasured friend and professional colleague who made my life richer for his presence.

In the four years that I've known George he has become a friend counted on for both intellectual and business discussions, and more personal conversations on life, the beauty of the Oregon coast, and the importance of family and friends. He was so very proud of his family and the accomplishments of his children. Just Friday we were making plans to get together at JP Morgan. He will be greatly missed.
My thoughts and prayers are with you at the very difficult time.
