BILLINGSLEY, JACK BYRON, 90, died suddenly on October 29, 2013, in Louisville, KY.

Born in Altus, OK, July 24, 1923, he lived most of his life in Oklahoma, residing in Tulsa for 48 years. He and his wife of 67 years, Betty Jeanne Billingsley, who died October 21, 2013, moved to Louisville in 1999.

Jack was an Eagle Scout and graduated from Will Rogers High School in 1941, after which he went to work for Flint Steel Company in Tulsa. He served in the US Army during World War II and was awarded the Purple Heart. After the war, he returned to Oklahoma to marry Betty in 1946. In 1949, he graduated with a degree in civil engineering from Oklahoma A&M University, where he was a member of the School of Engineering Board of Visitors for two terms in the 1970s. He retired from Flint in 1982.

Survivors include his brother, Jim (Jo) of Knoxville, TN; and his sons, Dale (Lin) of Louisville and Grant (Fran) of Midland, TX; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; as well as a nephew and niece and their children in Knoxville.

Funeral services will be private with no visitation.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to a will be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
