REID, VIRGINIA MACK "GINGY," 65, died October 29, 2013 at The Episcopal Church Home in Louisville, KY.

She was predeceased by her husband, Howard L. Reid; and her mother, Margaret Estes Mack. She is survived by her father, James Clarke Mack, Lexington; sister Linda Howe and family of San Antonio, TX; brothers, Dr. James Mack and family, Lexington, KY, and Dr. Scott Mack and family, California; and sister-in-law, Diana Reid Hepler and family, Louisville, KY. A special thanks to niece, Susan Weber who cared for Gingy through her journey with dementia.

Gingy was a retired elementary school teacher with Jefferson County Public Schools. After retirement, she and her husband moved to Merida Mexico where she continued her love of teaching by volunteering her services to the Instituto Moderno Americano School. To show how much Gingy was appreciated, the school has named their new library the "Gingy Reid Library." Gingy's body was donated to science. A memorial service will be held later.
