BORST, JOSEPH L. JR., 84, of Louisville, passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2013 at his home.

Born in Louisville, he was a graduate of St. Xavier High School (where he was later honored with an Outstanding Alumni Award), a U.S. Navy Reserve veteran and was semi-retired from the printing industry. He was a KY Colonel, member of Knights of Columbus (Assumption Council), American Legion (Highland Post) and St. Raphael the Archangel Catholic Church.

Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Beckmann Borst; his brother, Richard A. Borst; and a close friend, Norma Whyte.

He is survived by his children, Carolynne Flint (Dr. Lewis M. Flint), Margie Sanders (Joe), Thomas J. Borst (Mary Jude), and David L. Borst (Kim); sister, Doris Jean Meehan; numerous brothers and sisters-in-law; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Joe's funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at St. Raphael, with private burial later. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. on Monday at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road.
