Bryan Ned Cowherd

COWHERD, BRYAN NED, 90, of Frankfort and formerly of Christian County, died at 7:45 a.m., Tuesday, February 11, 2014, at Baptist Health in Louisville, KY after a brief illness.

A native of Christian County, he was born June 12, 1923, the son of the late JB "Dick" and Lena Brown Cowherd. He was a U.S. Army veteran that served in World War II. He fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He worked for Kentucky's Program for Historical Preservation, and the Ambassador's Office in New Delhi, India.

He is preceded in death by his sisters, Dorothy Brandon Adams and Marian Cannon Niles.

Survivors include a nephew, John M. Brandon (Patsy) of Hopkinsville; a niece, Becky Cain (Roger) of Murfreesboro, TN; and three great-nieces, Lori Hall (Larry), Tammy Cain, and Sherry Kyle (Chuck).

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at Kentucky Veteran Cemetery West in Hopkinsville, with Richard Stanley officiating. Hughart & Beard Funeral Home in Hopkinsville is in charge of arrangements.
