WHITE, JOHN THOMAS HENRY, passed away March 30, 2014.
He was born September 7, 1937, in Anchorage, KY. He was the seventh of nine children born to James Henry and Cordelia (Bullitt) White. He was also a member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
John graduated from Lincoln Institute in 1955. There, he excelled academically and played on the football team! After high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1955 and he overcame great opposition to earn his right to serve his country. Following his military service, he started his culinary journey at Pryor's Restaurant, where he worked with dedication and was promoted to manager. His career was later expanded to include district management positions with other well-known restaurants.
While working as a manager for Pryor's, John met the love of his life, Alice Faye French, whom he married on July 14, 1960. He was the father of four children, Brenda Roberts, Austin Lamont, whom passed at the tender age of 11 (21Mar61-20Apr72), Louisa Maria and Jacqueline Denise White.
