Its your birthday today and we sure miss celebrating it with you. But even if we would like to go to Louisville, we would have problems getting there as we have been struck with a pandemic of the Corona virus, which has made us stay at home and not travel anywhere. But, it doesn't mean we have forgotten about your birthday. I miss you Buddy, your big brother Jacobus.

Today truly your Birthday, because you entered into this world on September 12th and then left it to enter into your new home with our Glorious Heavenly Father on September 12. Give our family there with you my love, as they are often on my mind. Happy Birthday Little Brother,

My Dear Little Brother, I have grieved now for a year and cried so many days. I am here on your Birthday, the same day of your new birth in Heaven. You were so brave to wait for me to come on your Birthday. I feel wrong for asking you to wait for me. How you could endure that much pain to please your Big Sister I'll never know, Thank you for loving me as I will always love you. No-one knows as we were growing up the life we had. I like to remember green grass, Butterflies, violets, ladybugs and chains of clover we would make as we passed away a beautiful summer day.
I will try to contact your army friend and your Boys Haven friend who wrote so warmly of you. As I said Many times on September the twelve, happy birthday Little Brother,I Love You,
Big Sis, LindaLee

I remember "Uncle Buddy" when I was a teenager with my dear friend, his niece, Gail. He seemed like a larger than life fellow, with a big voice, and his heart just as large. I'd forgotten about the soap project until someone mentioned it here. I'm sincerely thankful for his years devoted to defending his country and serving others. My condolences to Linda, Rose, Liz, Gail, and family. God keep you all in his care.

Friday I lost my best friend Uncle Buddy who I took care of for the last seven years. I was a little girl when he rounded up the neighborhood kids to collect soap for our soldiers in Vietnam. And have many wonderful memories from 50 years of friendship. EVEN though I'm not family I will truly miss my UNCLE BUDDY! I will cherish his memories forever.

Buddy was my room mate at Boys Haven In 1954. He was a good friend. After I retired from the Air Force in the 80's we connected again with the Boys Haven Alumni Association. He worked at Fort Knox in a different dept. than me. We would have lunch often and I would visit him at his place in Harned Ky. I lost tract of him in the early 90's. I will miss him. So sorry for your loss Rose. Will try to get to the funeral home Monday. RIP Soap King Of Viet Nam.
