To Steve's Family: I am deeply saddened and heart broken of this news. I lived down the street from Steve and his family in the 1970's. Steve has always been and will forever be one of the most special and dearest part of my memories from long ago of which I have many. I would try to stop and visit with Steve when I had the rare opportunity to come home for a visit. I hadn't spoken with him for quite some time. He had told me of his illness the last we spoke. To Steve's children: Your entry in this book is such a beautiful tribute to your Father and so true of him. To Laura: I am sorry I hadn't had the chance to meet and know you yet, my sincerest and deepest sympathy for your loss of this special man. He was so very dearly loved and will be sorely missed.

My deepest sympathy I offer to the Hack family in this time of loss. Yet I also wish to offer my utmost gratitude for your influence on my life. The brief time I spent with Steve was a blessing and I learned much from his life experience. He will be missed, but his legacy will continue to live on through his children.

I am very sorry for the loss of Steve. He is a great guy. The world is not as good a place as it was with him in it.

My father was a magnificent man. Nary a soul who knew him will ever forget his bright spirit. Even in the most terminal stages of leukemia's grip, he never lost his gift for making someone's day happier. I will miss him and think about him every day for the rest of my life. What a great man.
