Loving mother, nana, great nana, sister; 95

LOWELL -- Alice (Kroll) Georges, 95, a lifelong resident of Lowell, died Friday, May 10, 2013 surrounded by her loving family at D'Youville Senior Care Center in Lowell.

She was born February 12, 1918 in Lowell, daughter of the late Francis and Katherine (Chmaj) Kroll. Alice was predeceased by her husband, Paul "Apples" Georges in January of 2009, following 72 years of marriage. She was also predeceased by a brother, Michael Kroll, and a granddaughter, Maryellen Riley.

Alice was a graduate of Lowell High School Class of 1936 and was employed with Lowell Shoe for over 30 years, retiring in 1982. She was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and always enjoyed watching Duke University basketball on TV. Her interests included reading, playing Wednesday Night BINGO with her friends at her Mazur Park residence, cooking and baking, and evenings watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy.

She will always be remembered as a caring and nurturing mother, nana, and great nana.

Her loving family includes two sons, Paul Georges and his wife, Rosemary of Bradenton Beach, FL, Francis Georges and his wife, Rita of Lowell; two daughters, Ann Connors and her husband, James of Hampton, NH, Betty Dumont and her husband, Leo, Jr. of Hudson, NH; a brother, Frank Kroll of Northboro, MA; six grandchildren, Paula Hamel and her husband, Mark of Chelmsford, MA, James Connors of Hampstead, NH, Lisa Toohey and her husband, Jason of Hudson, NH, Leo Dumont III and his wife, Tracie of Hudson, NH, Frank Georges of Lowell, MA, Maria Georges of Washington, DC; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and wonderful neighbors at Mazur Park.

GEORGES -- Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, May 15th from 4 pm-8 pm in the DUMONT-SULLIVAN FUNERAL HOME, 50 FERRY ST. IN HUDSON, NH. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday May 16th at 10 am in the Holy Trinity Polish Church, 340 High St. in Lowell. All May Meet At Church. Burial will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Lowell. In lieu of flowers the family encourages donations to Elder Services of Merrimack Valley, Inc., Development Office, 360 Merrimack St., Bldg. #5, Lawrence, MA 01843.
