Loving wife, mother, and grandmother; 80
DRACUT, MA -- Lorraine M. (Douglas) Laird, 80, died, Thursday, November 15th, 2012, at Lowell General Hospital with her loving family by her side.
She was the beloved wife of John J. Laird with whom she shared 58 years of marriage.
Lorraine was born in Lowell, MA on June 17, 1932, a daughter of the late Edward Douglas and Sophie (Sorota). She was educated in Lowell and a graduate of Lowell High School.
For over 20 years, Lorraine worked in the Food Service Department at UMass Lowell.
Lorraine enjoyed reading, and traveling to Ireland with her sister-in-law, which she spoke about often.
Lorraine was a caring and loving, wife, mother and grandmother and loved her family more than anything. They were her life and she enjoyed nothing more then spending time with them.
Along with her husband, John, Lorraine is survived and will be deeply missed by her two daughters, Mary Laird Moloney of Hudson, NH, and Kathy Laird Janusis and her husband, Charles of Tyngsboro; and her cherished granddaughter, Jacqueline Janusis of Tyngsboro.
LAIRD -- Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects from 8:00 - 9:30 a.m. on Monday morning, November 19th at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME 2159 Lakeview Ave., DRACUT. A Mass of Christian Burial will then take place at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church in Lowell and burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Tewksbury. I was very sadden to learn about Lorraine. She was the beginning of my day on Fridays for a very long time, She would talk about you all the time and how proud she was of everyone of you. I will miss her.
Each of you filled a special place in her heart. She will alway be with you. My heart and prayers go out to you all at this very difficult time. I know Lorraine and my mom are smiling down on us.
