Danas, Arthur G. "A.G."  
Arthur G. 'A.G.' Danas Local Entrepreneur and business leader succumbs at the age of 83 LOWELL -- Arthur George Danas (A.G.) passed away Wednesday, June 29, after a long illness, surrounded by his beloved wife and sons. He was the son of George P. Danas and Katina (Ermilios) Danas. A well-known Belvidere family who resided in the Fort Hill Park area for over a century. A.G. was a lifetime member of the Transfiguration Church of Lowell and also was a lifelong member of the National Chapter of the American Legion. He was educated in the Lowell School System and continued his education at Boston University and Nasson College. After serving a two-year tour in the United States Army Corp. of the Engineer Aviation Battalion, which included a year in the Korean War conflict, A.G. returned to the classroom where he received a bachelor of arts degree from Nasson College. It was there he met and married his wife, Alice (Throumoulos) of Biddeford, Maine his bride for over 56 years. A.G. then went on to assume the family business, George Danas Market later to become A.G. Danas and Sons Market which evolved into A.G. Guns and Ammo and finally to be replaced by its present owner and son Gregory A. Danas, president and current owner of G&G Firearms Experts. A.G. is survived by his sons, Peter A. Danas and his wife, Voula and Gregory A. Danas and his wife, Heidi; as well as his daughter-in-law, Kimberly Danas and by his grandchildren, Lianna, Alice, Arthur, Elaine and Demetra Danas; a sister, Helene Danas of Lowell, MA; and his wife's family the Throumoulos - Truman families from Biddeford, Maine; as well as many nieces nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his sons, George A. Danas who passed away in 1999, and his infant son, Stephen A. Danas in 1968. Dorigatti, Silvana (Chicco)  
Silvana (Chicco) Dorigatti longtime resident of Chelmsford; 95 CHELMSFORD -- Silvana (Chicco) Dorigatti, 95, a longtime resident of Chelmsford, passed away on Tuesday, June 28, 2016, at Northwood Rehabilitation Center in Lowell. She was the beloved wife of the late Giacomo Dorigatti who died in 1997. She was born in Isola, D'Istria, Italy on August 28, 1920 and was a daughter of the late Rodolfo Santori and Anna Chicco. Silvana was employed for over 20 years as a seamstress for Baron Peters in Boston. She enjoyed sewing and crafting in her free time. She was a communicant of St. Mary Parish in Chelmsford. Silvana is survived by a daughter, Ariella Grady of Chelmsford; a son, Frank Dorigatti and his wife, Catherine of Waltham; four grandchildren, Debbie Mathis and her husband, Steven of Chelmsford, Laurie Couillard and her husband, Patrick of Chelmsford, Anna Maria Dorigatti of Reading, and Sandra Palermo and her husband, Michael of Reading; and six great-grandchildren, Patrick and Sarah, Jessica and Nicole, and Alexandra and Nicholas. DORIGATTI -- Visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 at the BLAKE FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen St., CHELMSFORD. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 o'clock at St. Mary Parish, 25 North Rd., Chelmsford. Dufresne, Roger R.  
Roger R. Dufresne longtime resident of Chelmsford; 65 CHELMSFORD -- Roger R. Dufresne, 65, a longtime resident of Chelmsford, passed away on Monday, June 27, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loving family, following a 4 ½ year battle with lung cancer. He was the beloved husband of Geraldine "Gerri" (Lavoie) Dufresne with whom he recently celebrated 43 years of marriage. He was born in Lowell on August 6, 1950 and was a son of the late Arthur and Gabrielle (Levasseur) Dufresne. Prior to his illness, Roger had worked as an Operations Manager for Packaging Partners, LLC in Lawrence. Previously, he spent many years employed by Wang Laboratories in Lowell. Roger was a member of the Chelmsford Boosters and was instrumental in the building of the new snack shack. His pastimes included golfing, woodworking, and taking care of his yard. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his children and grandchildren. He made a great impact on everyone he met. In addition to his loving wife, Roger is survived by his daughters; Tracy Carney and her husband Jason of Lowell, Kerri Wilson and her husband Daniel of Chelmsford, and Lauren Dufresne and her fiancé Catherine Adrian of Chelmsford; and six grandchildren; Matthew, Maggie, Evan, Katherine, Jack, and Kaleigh. He also leaves a sister Theresa Christian and her husband Raymond of Lowell and a brother Robert Dufresne and his fiancé Phyllis Shelley of Mansfield, his mother-in-law, and many other special family and friends. Roger's family would like to extend a special thank you to Ivy and Jocelyn from VNA Hospice Care, and Dr. Stacy Gray and Pam Calarese of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute for the exceptional care they provided to Roger and his family. Efstathia (Kakavas) Dimakarakos of Lowell; 84 LOWELL -- Efstathia (Kakavas) Dimakarakos, passed away on June 25, 2016. She was born in Ano Giannaika, Greece, the daughter of the late Antonios and Triantafili (Trigilidas) Kakavas. She was the wife of the late Alexandros P. Dimakarakos. Effie resided in Lowell after coming to the United States in 1966. She was a member of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church of Dracut. She is survived by her son, Panayiotis of Lowell, her son, Tony of Ft. Myers, FL, and her son, George and his wife, Alexandria of Lowell; by whom she will be sorely missed. She is also survived by her sister, Zoe (Kakavas) Kennos, of Lowell; her brother, Theodore Kacavas and his wife, Connie, of Lowell; her sister-in-law, Niki (Dimakarakos) Famelos of Canada; her brother-in-law, Nikos Dimakarakos and his wife, Maria, of Greece; and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Nikos Kakavas, and Vasilios Kakavas. DIMAKARAKOS -- Relatives and friends will be received at the M.R. Walter J. Dube Jr. Owner of Herb's Locksmith Service BILLERICA -- Walter J. Dube Jr., age 66, beloved husband of Yong Sun (Cho) Dube, died Saturday, at the Lahey Hospital in Burlington. He was born in Boston, October 2, 1949, a son of Anna M. (Fabbri) Dube of Billerica and the late Walter J. Dube Sr. and was a resident of Billerica for most of his life having graduated from Billerica High School in 1969. Mr. Dube served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War and was a member of the VFW Post #529 in Somerville and the Mass. Rifle Association. He was the owner of Herb's Locksmith Service in Arlington for over 30 years prior to his retirement. Besides his wife and mother, Mr. Dube is survived by his daughter, Ada Sheridan and her husband, James of Lakeville; his brother, Roland Dube of Billerica; his sisters, Julianne Begay of Billerica, Carol Prince of Townsend, and Geraldine Streb of Chelmsford; and grandfather of Patrick J. Rita De Cassia (Toste) DaSilva of Lowell; 67 LOWELL -- Rita De Cassia (Toste) DaSilva, 67, of Lowell, passed away after a lengthy illness, Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at Tufts Medical Center with her family by her side. She was the wife of Antonio S. DaSilva with whom she would of shared 26 years of marriage next month. Rita was born on September 7, 1948 in Terceira, Azores, Portugal and was a daughter of the late Joao Borges Toste and the late Paulina Do Carmo (Martins) Toste. She grew up in Terceira, where she was educated, before living in mainland Portugal for 10 years, where she worked in an orphanage, before relocating to the United States 26 years ago. Rita resided in Lowell and was a communicant of St. Anthony Church, where she took part in the Cursillo Movement. She was a member of the Holy Ghost Society and the Portuguese Senior Center, where she enjoyed spending time with her friends. Rita loved to pray, laugh and make jokes. Her favorite quote was "one day at a time". She enjoyed traveling and especially loved being near the ocean. Rita was a talented dressmaker and loved to sew and knit. She also enjoyed arts and crafts. In addition to her husband, Antonio, she is survived by her four siblings, Joao Toste and his wife, Juvenalia of Terceira, Azores, Maria DeLurdes Nunes and her husband, Manuel of Terceira, Azores, Marciolinda Rocha and her husband, Manuel of Lowell, and Francisco Toste and his wife, Livramente of Terceira, Azores. She is also survived by 26 nieces and nephews including, Tanya Silva of Florida and Sylvia Rocha of Stoughton, MA; her sister-in-law, Rosa Ormonde of Lowell; brother-in-law, Nelson DaSilva of Nashua; and two more brothers-in-law in Brazil.
