Rita Delisle Loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister; 89 LOWELL, MA -- Rita (Boule) Delisle, age 89, a lifelong resident of Lowell, passed away on April 25, 2015, following a long period of declining health, at D'Youville Senior Care surrounded by her loving family. She is the beloved wife of Roland Delisle, with whom she would have celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on June 10th. She was born in Lowell on April 14, 1926, daughter of the late Theophile and Roseanne (Maheu) Boule. Rita loved dancing, bingo, card games, sewing and doing crafts. Her greatest joy were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who would put a sparkle in her eyes! Besides her husband, she is survived by her three children and their spouses, Therese and Roland Soucy of Pelham, NH, Bob & Angela Delisle of Pensacola, FL, Michelle & Mark Silveira of Pelham, NH; her grandchildren, Anne-Marie Vawter, Laura Spaulding, Rosanne Washington, Marianne Croteau, Michael Soucy, Matthew Soucy and Cody Silveira; 13 great-grandchildren; her sister, Doris Boule, and a brother, Roland Boule; also many nieces & nephews. She was sister of the late Albert, Ernest, Raymond, Walter and Gerard Boule, Alice Beaudry, Gertrude Golden, Anita and Marie-Antoinette Boule. Rita was highly allergic to flowers and said she would haunt us if there were flowers at her wake; so in keeping with her wishes, we ask that in lieu of flowers, you make a donation in her memory to the D'Youville Senior Care Patient Activity Fund, 981 Varnum Ave., Lowell, MA 01854. The family would also like to take this opportunity to thank the staff of D'Youville's Unit-B for their excellent care given the past two years, without all of you we would have been lost. McSwiggin, Stephanie  
Stephanie McSwiggin Loving wife and mother LOWELL -- Stephanie (Jarek) McSwiggin, 89, passed away peacefully on Monday evening, April 20, 2015, at the Northwood Rehabilitation Healthcare Center in Lowell, following a short illness. Mrs. McSwiggin was the loving wife of the late Ret. Lowell Fire Lieutenant, Charles F. McSwiggin, to whom she was married to for 58 years. Stephanie was born in Lowell on May 21, 1925, a daughter of the late Peter and Mary (Krystiniak) Jarek. Stephanie was a lifelong resident of the Christian Hill Neighborhood. She attended the Lowell Public Schools, graduating from Lowell High School in 1942, where she was a 1st Lieutenant in the Girl Officer Regiment. She then attended and graduated from Lowell Commercial College. Upon graduation, she was employed in the Merrimack Mills as an administrative assistant. After her children were grown, Mrs. McSwiggin worked as a book keeper at Hanover Leather and Findings, until her retirement. Mrs. McSwiggin is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth "Betty" McSwiggin of Seabrook, NH; her two sons, Charles B. McSwiggin of Millerton, NY, and Robert McSwiggin and his wife, Patricia of Dracut; her four grandchildren, Peter, James, and Thomas McSwiggin of Dracut, and Meredith Hamelin of Hudson, NH; three great-grandchildren, Shayla, Cheyenne, and Trevor Hamelin; Stephanie is also survived by her brother-in-law, Frederick McSwiggin; and many nieces and nephews. Stephanie was also the sister of the late Jennie Buczynski and Sophie Walsh. Stephanie's children would like to express their gratitude to Chris and Dick Gaiero and Patricia Regan for the care towards their mother for twelve years, as well as the Nurses and Nurse's Aides at Northwood. Joanne C. Metro Loving mother, grandmother, sister, friend CHELMSFORD/LOWELL -- Joanne C. Metro, a Chelmsford resident, passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2015, at the Lowell General Hospital - Saints Campus. She was born on September 20, 1950 in Cambridge, MA, and was a daughter of the late Margaret A. Chalk and the late Al Metro. Joanne was educated throughout the Lexington schools. She was a devoted mother who showed unconditional love and support to all of her children and grandchildren. Joanne enjoyed spending time at the beach collecting seashells. She also collected wind chimes, lighthouses, snowmen, and butterflies. Joanne also enjoyed fudge and salt water taffy, and spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Cheryl Alaoui, Laurie Gleason, Tracy Leonardo, Kelly Eno, and Raymond Ferguson; and a sister, Barbara Lake. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Steven, Sarah, Jacinta, Joseph, Zakariya, Jordan, Aaron, Jaylina, Brianna, Alexis, Katilia, Bryant (honey boy), Shayla, Adam and the late Eric Gleason; and her family friends, Amy Diaz, Danny St. Cyr, and friends at the Chelmsford Housing. Dorothy (Convery) Murray Beloved mother and grandmother LOWELL -- Dorothy (Convery) Murray, a life-long resident of Lowell, died on April 21, 2015, in Lowell, at the age of 86. Dorothy was born in Lowell on November 23, 1928, and was the wife of the late William Murray, and daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Martin) Convery. Dorothy received her early education at St. Patrick's School and graduated from Lowell High School in 1946. She worked at the Lowell Telephone Answering Service, Raytheon, and Cantor Insurance Agency. She was also a member of the Immaculate Conception Church, where she was an active member of the Women's Guild, Bible Study and Mother's Group. Dorothy was a kind, nurturing woman who always put her family first. She is survived by her seven children William Murray of Alexandria, Virginia, Mark Murray of New York, Mary Frances (Murray) den Boggende and her husband, Anton den Boggende of North Andover, MA, Martha Bonner and her husband, George Bonner of Haverhill, MA, James Murray of Charlestown, MA, Joseph Murray of Boston, MA, and John Murray of Newton, MA. She is also survived by her four grandchildren, Reinier den Boggende and Alexis den Boggende of North Andover, MA, George Bonner and Matthew Bonner of Haverhill, MA; her brother, James Convery and his wife, Setsuko of San Diego, CA; a brother-in-law, Roger Spurrell of Chelmsford; a niece, Elizabeth (Convery) Provost and her husband, Eric and their sons, Garrett and Justin of Katy, Texas; her nephews, Robert Convery Jr. of Greenville, SC, Roger Spurrell Jr. of Hudson, NH, Dr. Timothy Spurrell and his wife, Dr. Emily Spurrell of Providence RI; and a niece, Eleanor (Convery) Roberts of Savannah GA. In addition, she is survived by many cousins including Faith (Cockroft) Vigeant and Dorothy Cockcroft, both of Chelmsford, MA. Dorothy was the sister of the late Elizabeth Convery and Robert Convery, sister-in-law of the late Eleanor (Collins) Convery, Janet (Murray) Spurrell and Patricia Murray, aunt of the late Stephen Convery and William Spurrell, and cousin of the late Kathryn Cockroft. MURRAY -- Her funeral was held privately at the Immaculate Conception Church, and burial took place in St. Patrick Cemetery. Surprenant, Henry R.  
Henry R. Surprenant Loving father and grandfather; South Lowell resident LOWELL -- Henry Raymond Surprenant, a resident of the South Lowell neighborhood, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday morning, April 24, 2015. He was 87 years old. Henry was the beloved husband of Helen M. (Corkum) Surprenant who died on December 1, 2010. Henry was born in Lowell on August 18, 1927, a son of the late Alphonse and Exilda (Plante) Surprenant. He was a graduate of Ste. Marie's Grammar School in South Lowell and a member of St. Marie's Parish his whole life. He was named the 1st Ste. Marie's Parish "Man of the Year" an award and honor he was very proud of. Henry lived in the same neighborhood his entire life and never moved outside a half mile radius of his family home. Henry was a Navy Veteran of WWII. He married Helen Corkum on December 31, 1950, and together they celebrated nearly 60 years of marriage. Henry worked as a truck driver for Corenco in Tewksbury which later became Baker Commodities, Inc., from which he retired. He also worked at Anderson's Dairy in Tewksbury as a Milkman. For several years, Henry was a seasonal employee at St. Joseph Cemetery in Chelmsford. Henry loved to take trips "up country" with his wife Helen and their friends. Back home, Cribbage and the St. Marie's Cribbage League was one of Henry's greatest pastimes. By age 12, every child and grandchild of Henry's had to know how to play cribbage. Playing Cribbage, and card games and dominos were an important part of enjoying free time with Henry. He also loved playing golf, and especially enjoyed a round of golf with his good friend Fr. Gill. Equally enjoyable were his trips to Foxwoods with his best friend, Roger Geoffroy. Henry was a calm, laid back gentleman. He was accepting of everyone. Welcoming, loving, caring, and easygoing are all words used to describe Henry's personality. He enjoyed having people around him all of the time. Henry enjoyed being out in his yard and the devotion and affection of his dog, Max. He loved eating at IHOP every Wednesday. Henry was a lifelong Red Sox Fan. Henry was the father of the late Donna Marie Hughes who died in 2007. Surviving Henry are his two daughters, Lynne Marie Wilcox of Lowell, and Sandy Marie Burke and her husband, Ed of North Reading; his seven grandchildren, Kerry Ann McIntosh and her fiancé, Jack Wang, Lisa Jean Wilcox, James Bradley Wilcox and his wife, Teresa, Sean Edward Burke, Kevin James Burke, Scott Henry Burke, and Morgan Elizabeth Burke; four great-grandchildren, Allison Jane McIntosh, Andrew Jay McIntosh, Hadley Marie Wilcox, and Thomas James Wilcox; his brother Walter Surprenant; his sisters-in-law, Lucille Surprenant and Jean Corkum; his best friend Roger Geoffroy; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, including his longtime cribbage partner, Al Stamp. Henry was the brother of the late Rose, Fred, Roland, Clement, Louise, Lucile, Nora and Denis Surprenant. SURPRENANT -- In Lowell, April 24, 2015, at his home, Henry R. Surprenant, 87, the beloved husband of Helen M. Surprenant. Family and friends may call at the FAY McCABE FUNERAL HOME on WEDNESDAY from 4 until 8 PM. Dora L. Desmarais of Nashua, NH, ties to Pepperell, MA; 95 NASHUA, NH -- Dora L. (Brousseau) Desmarais, 95, of Nashua, NH, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 22, 2015, at the Courville of Nashua. Dora was born in Manchester on October 7, 1919, a daughter of the late George and Emilia (Lacasse) Brousseau. She was the widow of Paul P. Desmarais who passed away on January 24, 1999. Prior to retirement, she had been employed by Sanders Associates. Dora was predeceased by two brothers, Lionel Brousseau and Maurice Brousseau. Dora is survived by one daughter, Pauline Gervais and her husband, Robert of Pepperell, MA; one son, Paul H. Desmarais and his wife, Karen of Lebanon, ME; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; also several nieces, nephews, and cousins. DESMARAIS -- There are no visiting hours. Larry Eugene Gordon of Chelmsford, worked at Raytheon; 66 CHELMSFORD -- Larry Eugene Gordon, age 66, a longtime resident of Chelmsford, died unexpectedly Saturday, February 21st, 2015, at his home. He was born in Tiffin, Ohio on May 2, 1948, and was a son of the late Harry E. and Doris E. (Pickering) Gordon. He received his early education in Kenton, Ohio schools and was a graduate of Kenton High School. He also attended The Ohio State University. Larry served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He was employed as an engineer for many years by Raytheon Company. Larry was an avid golfer and was an avid sports fan, especially the Buckeyes and the Boston teams. He also enjoyed playing pool, kayaking, flying kites, playing darts, and scuba diving. He was a member of the Raytheon Golf League, the Greater Lowell Dart League, the Harvard Sportsmen Club, Kites Over New England, and the New England Seacoast Paddlers. Larry is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, John "Jack" and DeAnna Gordon of Columbus, Ohio; his best friend, Warren Van Gemert and his wife, JoAnne of Townsend; and many nieces and nephews. Rita A. Lemay Seamstress, textile worker, and military wife TYNGSBORO -- Rita A. (Brunelle) Lemay, age 87, a longtime resident of Tyngsboro, MA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 23, 2015, surrounded by her loving family and friends. Rita was the beloved wife of the late Roland G. Lemay. She was born in Lowell, MA, on July 27, 1927, a daughter of the late John A. and Emma D. (Morin) Brunelle. She attended Lowell Schools and was a graduate of the Lowell Vocational School. Rita had worked as a seamstress for many years in the Lowell Mills, she continued to sew and knit well into her 80's. She was a lover of music and theater, a world traveler, and an avid animal lover. Rita was a member of the St. Mary Magdalen Parish. Her survivors include: a daughter, Roslyn Martinez and her husband, John of Nashua, NH; her grandson, Tony Ntellas and his wife, Kelly Ntellas; and great-grandson, Jakob Ntellas, all of Brooklyn, NY; two nieces, Linda Tuck and her husband, Robert and family of NH; Susan Ring and Family of Vermont; one nephew, Paul Brunelle Jr. and his wife, Kerryn and family of NH. Rita was also the sister of the late William "Bill" Brunelle and Paul Brunelle Sr. LEMAY -- In keeping with Rita's wishes, visiting hours have been omitted.
