John Sousa Machado Proprietor of Oakland Barber Shop, Lifelong Lowell resident LOWELL -- John Sousa Machado, 80, of Lowell, passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2015 in the comfort of his home. Born November 8, 1934 in Lowell, he was a son of the late Joseph S. Machado, and the late Leonor L. (Picanso) Machado. He was educated in Lowell and graduated from Lowell High School with the Class of 1952. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving his country at McDill Air Force Base and Orlando Air Force Base before his honorable discharge in 1957. He worked as a letter carrier for 10 years with the United States Postal Service in Lowell. He was also the proprietor of Oakland Barber Shop in Oakland Square in Belvidere. A resident of South Lowell for the past 65 years, John enjoyed fishing, playing tennis, reading, baking, and national politics. He is survived by his 3 nephews and his niece, Daniel Machado of Nashua, Donna Machado of Concord, NH, Leonard DeSousa of Lowell, Mark DeSousa of Tyngsboro. Robert J. Marchand "Mucka" 1953- 2015 LOWELL -- Robert J. Marchand, 62, a longtime Lowell resident passed away unexpectedly on Thursday August 13, 2015. Born in Lowell on July 22, 1953, he was the son of the late Leo J. and Gertrude V. (Roberge) Marchand. Bobby was employed as a letter carrier by the United States Postal Service. Albert Thomas Martino, Sr.; 83 April 17, 1933 - August 6, 2015 PORT RICHEY, FL - Albert T. Martino, Sr., 83, of 11623 Duryea Ave., Port Richey, FL., passed away in New Port Richey on August 6, 2015. Albert was born in Lowell, Massachusetts on April 17, 1933 to Margaret and Louis Martino, Sr. He attended Lowell High School. Albert began a career as a Meat Cutter for Lowell Provision and worked at several well known Market chains, finally retiring from Demoulas and Market Basket. He enjoyed participating in family gatherings and activities, golf and passionately enjoyed cooking for family and friends. Albert served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and also a proud member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Albert is survived by daughter; Sharon Girouard, sons; Albert Jr. and David, granddaughters; Courtney, Chelsea, Areena, Karalyn and Tylyn, sister; Gloria Poirier, brothers; Henry and Richard. Albert was predeceased by his wife; Delia D. Martino (daughter of Anthony P. and Gilda Traverso), father; Louis Sr., mother; Margaret and brother; Louis, Jr. MARTINO - It was Albert's wish that the ashes of his dearly departed wife Delia be combined and that they be memortalized together. Doris M. McKenzie Former Mill Girl LOWELL -- Doris M. (Weed) McKenzie, 92, of Lowell, passed away Thursday, August 27, 2015, at Genesis Westford House, after a brief illness. She was the widow of the late John McKenzie. A daughter of the late Joseph and the late Mary (Letendre) Weed, she was born June 16, 1923, in Lowell, and was educated in the local schools. Doris worked in the local Mills and then worked in the Kitchen at Lowell General Hospital after her husband passed away, and retired from there. She loved playing cards with her brothers, Bid Wist and Crazy 8's. She also enjoyed traveling to Old Orchard Beach with her family, spending time at the Lowell Senior Center, and playing Bingo, and taking walks through the city. In her younger days, she was a communicant of the former St. Patrick's Church, and more recently attended Mass at St. Joseph the Worker Shrine. She is survived by her sisters, Mary E. Jacobs of Lowell, and Cecile Weed of Dracut; many close nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly, Russel, Brian, Linda, Donna, Joyce, Ronald, Robert, David, and Cheryl; and many grandnieces and grandnephews. She was also a sister of the late Gerard Weed, the late Arthur Weed, the late Leon Weed, and the late Euguene "Tex" Weed. The family would like to thank the Staff at Westford House for the kind and compassionate care bestowed upon Doris during her stay there. John F. McLaughlin of Wilmington John F. McLaughlin, age 52, of Wilmington, passed away unexpectedly on August 27, 2015. John was the cherished son of the late Charles E. and Kathleen H. (Coulter) McLaughlin, dear brother of Roberta Gregory, William R. McLaughlin, Charles E. McLaughlin, Jr., James C. McLaughlin, all of Wilmington, and Kathleen F. Johnson & her husband John of AL, loving uncle of Candice and Andrew Johnson of AL. John is also survived by many cousins and dear friends. Family and friends will gather for Visitation at Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave., (Rte. 62), Wilmington, on Tuesday, September 1st from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. A Graveside Service will take place at Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington on Wednesday, September 2nd at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in John's memory may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Metropolis, Deborah "Debbie"  
Deborah 'Debbie' Metropolis Loving mother, daughter, sister, and aunt LOWELL -- Deborah "Debbie" Metropolis, age 63, of Lowell, died on August 23, 2015, in Lowell, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Lowell on May 18, 1952, she was the daughter of Marian (Wourgiotis) Metropolis and the late Peter Metropolis. She attended Chelmsford High School and graduated from Rob Roy Academy in Worcester and Eleanor Roberts Institute in Boston. For many years, she worked at her father's barber shop (Pete's Ideal Barber Shop in Lowell) and later took ownership of the business. Debbie had a beautiful, loving soul. She will always be remembered for her sense of humor and her quick wit. She never went a day without her signature red lipstick; her family will miss the mark she left whenever she kissed their cheeks. A devoted mother, daughter, sister, and aunt, she cherished her family above all else. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her loving daughter, Tarina and her nine siblings, Patty Abisi and her husband, Fred of Lowell, Dyanne Cleary of Belmont, Pam and her husband, Lew Martakos of Tewksbury, George Metropolis of Florida, Chuck Metropolis and his wife, Joan of Tyngsboro, Michael Metropolis and his wife, Michele of Florida, Stephanie Peterson and her husband, Bob of Waltham, Lisa Toby and her husband, Alan of Melrose, and Bill Metropolis and his wife, Carole of New Hampshire. She is also survived by three nieces, Meghan, Christa and Alex; four nephews, Mark and his wife, Kate, Chris and his wife, Courtney, Ken, and Andrew; a grandniece, Ella; and three grandnephews, Adam, Alex, and Zach. Miller, John Steven  
John Steven Miller formerly of North Billerica; 64 PALM HARBOR, FL -- John Steven Miller of Palm Harbor, FL, formerly of North Billerica, died unexpectedly on August 19, 2015 at his home at the age of 64. John was born March 2, 1951 in Somerville, MA to John and Corinne Miller. He was a resident of Billerica for over 40 years. He then relocated to Pinellas County, Florida in 1996. A 1970 graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, John also held the distinction of being a Certified Purchasing Manager. He graduated from Northern Essex CC with a degree is business management. John started several businesses during his life, one being J.S. Miller Fuel and Service Co. in North Billerica, and another, Pet and Home Services Co. in Palm Harbor, FL. He was very involved with his community, retaining the top leadership position in the Cub Scouts for several years. John loved the outdoors, traveling, photography, and nature; spending as much time as possible outside. His sense of humor and smile could bring light to nearly any situation in life. In his spare time he enjoyed writing, caring for animals and orchids, and was an avid fan of local sports teams. John is survived by his two sons Steven Miller and Jeffrey Miller, of Palm Harbor, FL; his mother Corinne Miller, of Tewksbury; his sister Karen DeMone, brother-in-law Bryan DeMone, niece Jenna DeMone and nephew Derrik DeMone, all of Burlington; his aunt Ann Bromberg, of Billerica; his aunt Helen Reardon of Stoneham; and countless other members of the extended family. He is preceeded in death by his father, John J. Miller, and sister, Susan Miller. MILLER -- Memorial services will be held at St. Theresa's Catholic Church, in Billerica, on September 12th, 2015 at 10:30am. All in attendance are then invited to join the Miller family at the Marriott Courtyard off Concord Rd. in Billerica at 12pm for a celebration of life.

Morris, Robert S.  
Robert S. Morris 1942 - 2015 LOWELL -- Robert S. Morris, 73 of Lowell, beloved husband of Irene (Hebert) (Perry) Morris died peacefully on Saturday August 29, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family after a brave and valiant fight against cancer. Born in Lowell, MA on June 30, 1942 Bob was the son of the late Doris (Leighton) (Morris) Sullivan and Leo Morris. He was educated in the Lowell Schools, was a graduate of St. Michael's Grammer School and a graduate of Lowell High School Class of 1960. He was a lifelong communicant of St. Michael's Church. Bob had worked for many years at Courier Citizen in Lowell. He later worked at Avco/Textron in Lowell. He was a longtime member of the East End Club. Bob was an avid sports fan, especially of the World Champion New England Patriots. He enjoyed the Horse races at Rockingham Park, trips with his wife and children to the beach and his trips with his wife to Foxwoods. He was a very caring and loving man who raised 7 children as if they were his own, whom they all called Dad. In his later years he cherished his 19 grandchildren. Besides his wife of nearly 30 years, Bob is survived by 9 children; Rick Perry and his wife Dania of Treasure Island, FL, Kevin Perry of Dracut, Mark Perry and his wife Wendy of Methuen, Robin Morris of Lowell, Kenney Perry and his wife Robin of Macomb, Michigan, Karen (Perry) Greelish of Salem, NH, John Morris and his wife Dawn of Dracut, Bruce Perry and his wife Tracey of Dracut and Michelle (Perry) Green and her husband Michael of Lowell. His sister; Connie (Morris) Paquette of Lowell, a sister-in-law; Katherine Hebert and a brother-in-law; Bernard Murphy both of Lowell. Besides his parents, Bob was predeceased by many in-laws, including his favorite brother-in-law and friend Norman Hebert. He was also predeceased by his two loyal companions, Rusty and Pal who are waiting for him at the Rainbow Bridge. The family would like to thank Circle Home Hospice, especially Kathy for her compassionate care in Bob's final days. MORRIS -- Family and friends may call on Wednesday September 2, 2015 from 4 to 8 P.M. at the ARCHAMBAULT FUNERAL HOME, 309 Pawtucket St., Lowell. Bob's funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday morning at 10 o'clock at St. Michael's Church, Lowell. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford. Therese E. (Kulski) Morrison of Townsend, formerly of Billerica; 89 TOWNSEND -- Therese E. (Kulski) Morrison, 89 of Townsend, formerly of Billerica died July 28, 2015 at Life Care of Nashoba Valley. She was born in Billerica April 8,1926 daughter of the late Bernard and Margaret (McKay) Kulski and her late husband Douglass A. Morrison. A resident of Billerica in her earlier years where she attended the schools and was a graduate of Howe High School class of 1944. A resident of Lakeworth, Florida for many years, she had been employed in the subscription office of the Palm Coast Post Times. She is survived by her daughter Sharon T. Tetreault of Pepperell, a son David P. Gorton of Moore, Oklahoma, 4 sisters Kathleen Martin of Chelmsford, Josephine Johnson of Farmington NH., Patricia Annessi of Yarmouth and Marie McKay of Chelmsford and was the mother of the late Bernard J. "Buddy" Gorton and sister of the late Bernadette Visniewski.
