Donald J. Colby 1928 - 2016 SALEM, NH -- Donald J. Colby, a resident of Salem, NH, the beloved husband of the late Priscilla M. "Pat" Colby, with whom he celebrated 64 years of marriage at the time of her death in 2011, died Friday, April 29, 2016, at the Pleasant Valley Nursing Home with his family by his side. He was born in Lowell on July 2, 1928, the youngest of six children a son of the late Edward Colby and Winifred (Lunderville) Colby Desforges. He was educated in the Lowell schools, and was a member of St. Patrick Parish in Pelham, NH. Don spent most of his years owning and operating Don's Used Cars, where he sold and repaired automobiles. Two things mattered most to Don, his love of family and race cars. When he wasn't with his family he could be found every weekend at Hudson and Pines Speedways where he ran the wrecker services. Surviving him are four children, Mrs. Donald (Anne) MacCord of Derry, NH, Mrs. Richard (Anita) Deshaies of Manchester, NH, Mrs. Joseph (Donna) Mcdonald of Manchester, NH; Donald G. Colby and his wife, Sue of Kissimmee, FL; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a sister, Hazel Sells of Fort Myers, FL; and several nieces and nephews. COLBY -- Relatives and friends are invited to Don's Life Celebration at the McKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street from 4 until 8 PM on Monday. Cordeiro, Joanne L.  
Joanne L. Cordeiro formerly of Tewksbury; 72 CHELMSFORD -- Joanne L. (Vinal) Cordeiro, age 72, died unexpectedly on Thursday afternoon, April 28, in her Chelmsford home, from natural causes. She was the daughter of Lena (Parrella) Vinal of Dracut, and the late Russell Vinal. Joanne was born in Everett, and raised in Everett and Tewksbury. She graduated from the Lowell Trade School and in her early career worked as a hairdresser. While raising her family in Dracut, she changed careers to the electronics industry and worked for several area manufacturing companies before her retirement. While raising her children in Dracut, she was active in Community Teamwork, and as a Cub Scout Den Mother. She opened her home and heart to "many" in need and was selfless. After her children had grown she moved to Chelmsford. In her recent years, she was well known in the greater Lowell Bingo circles, and was remembered as having devoted her last few years to the care and nurturing of her beloved granddaughter, Kiley Cordeiro. Besides her mother and granddaughter, she leaves her children, Daniel G. Cordeiro III and his wife, Kimberly (Kinsley) Cordeiro, Devin J. Cordeiro and his significant other, Tracy Nolan, and Dawn M. Padula and her husband, Richard, all of Dracut; She also is survived by John Russell of Pelham N.H. who she helped raise like one of her own; a brother, Gerald Vinal and his wife, Denise of Wilmington, a sister, Barbara Brooks and her husband, Robert of Tewksbury; many nieces and nephews; and was predeceased by her beloved sister, Gail Rice, of Dracut, on March 26th. Couillard, Nancy Anne (Gerow)  
Nancy Anne (Gerow) Couillard of Lowell, MA LOWELL, MA -- Nancy Anne (Gerow) Couillard of Lowell, Massachusetts died on April 29th at Lowell General Hospital in Lowell, MA. She was married to Ovide Noe' Couillard, who preceded her in death on January 4th, 2012. They were married in Cheboygan, Michigan at St. Charles Borremeo Church on October 3, 1964. Born in Grosse Pointe, Michigan on January 18, 1942, the daughter of Margaret Esther (Durand) Gerow and Collin Arthur Gerow. She was a graduate of Cheboygan Catholic High School class of 1960 and St. Joseph's Hospital School for Medical Record Technicians in Lowell in 1962 continuing to work in the medical field for many years. She was a communicant of The Shrine of St. Rita in early years and more recently St. Joseph the Worker Shrine in Lowell, MA. Her sound Catholic faith was a major part of the caring spirit she was. Nancy is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Michael Edward and Sherri Lynn, David Anthony and Christine, Patrick Joseph and Laurie, eight grandchildren, Cameron Reilly, Collin Peter, Olivia Kathleen, Patrick Grady, Sarah Anne, Emma Lauren, Aidan Michael and Ava Grace along with many nieces and nephews and many very special friends. Also survived by daughter-in-law Tina Couillard (Reilly), sisters-in-law Denyse Couillard and Carmen Dufresne and brothers-in-law Gilbert Dufresne and James MacDonald. She was also preceded in death by her Mother Margaret (1988), Father Collin (1965) and her sister Margaret "Peg" (Gerow), (Conn), Dunwoody (2009), sister-in-law Doris MacDonald (2015) and brother-in- law Robert Couillard (2014). All who have had the pleasure of meeting Nancy know the absolute adoration she had for her family and friends, as well as the gratitude she felt towards the entire staff from the Cancer Center at Lowell General Hospital - whom she also considered family. COUILLARD -- Nancy Anne (Gerow) Couillard died April 29th. There will be no visiting hours. Family and friends are welcome to attend a Celebration of Life gathering for Nancy Anne to take place Thursday, May 5, 2016 from 4:00pm - 8:00pm, at Long Meadow Golf Club, 165 Havilah Street, Lowell, MA 01852. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Sunday, May 29, 2016 at 2:00pm, at St. Joseph the Worker Shrine, 37 Lee Street, Lowell, MA 01852. Paul A. "Moose" Crosson of Chelmsford, MA, formerly Billerica, MA CHELMSFORD, MA -- Paul A. "Moose" Crosson 79, of Chelmsford, MA, formerly Billerica, MA, died peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Saturday April 30, 2016. Paul was born on July 24, 1936 in Fall River, MA, and attended Case High School. After graduation he attended The University of Maine Orono, before entering the Air Force. He met and married his wife Marie "Annette" in 1963 and moved to Billerica, MA, where they raised their 4 sons. They spent many summers at Totem Pole Park in Ossipee, NH, where Paul loved biking, reading, and boating with his family. Paul is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marie "Annette", and his four sons James Crosson, of Billerica, MA, Kenneth Crosson and wife Julie Mulkern of Billerica, MA, Gary Crosson, of Billerica, MA, and Brian and wife Allison Crosson, of Chelmsford, MA, grandchildren; Kenneth Crosson, Jr., Nicholas Crosson, and Matthew Crosson, all of Billerica, MA. CROSSON -- Private services for family are being held at the Cremation Society of New Hampshire, Manchester, NH. Virginia P. Ecklund Loving Mother and Grandmother Retired City Magnet School Teacher Virginia P. "Ginny" (Turmel) Ecklund died unexpectedly on April 24, 2016. Ginny was born at the family farmhouse in Hudson, NH, on December 25, 1937, the 11th of 13 children born to Octavia and David Turmel. She attended school in Hudson, NH, graduating from Alvirne High School in 1955. She was a stewardess for TWA for five years, based in Kansas City, MO. During this time she fell in love with Bill Ecklund, and they married on November 21, 1959. They raised three children in the Highlands section of Lowell. The family loved traveling throughout New England, spending summers at Hampton Beach, RV trips, and many parties and gatherings with family and friends. After her youngest child started school, she enrolled at Lowell State, graduating from the University of Lowell with a BS in Psychology and Elementary Education. She taught in Lowell Schools, notably 22 years at the City Magnet School, until her retirement in 2006. Although Ginny and Bill devoted time for their children to ski at early ages, she began skiing at age 43. Both she and Bill were avid skiers, skiing New England, the American West, and Europe. Some of her favorite hobbies were gardening, taking much pleasure and pride in her lawn and gardens, trying out new recipes, and baking sweets. She loved to visit her favorite city, San Francisco. Ginny loved her grandsons and was active in their lives, including reading and doing homework with them, watching their baseball and basketball games, and spending time together at the "ski house." Ginny is survived by her three children, Karen M. Ecklund and her husband Timothy Phelps of Springfield, NH, Tanya Hickey of Lowell, and William E. Ecklund of Nashua, NH; two grandsons, Zachery Hickey and Andrew Hickey both of Lowell; her sisters and brothers, Cecile Falkowski, Yolanda Vaillancourt, Theresa Morin, Robert Turmel, Richard Turmel and his wife Jeanne, and Theodore Turmel; her sisters-in-law, Claire Crouse and Helen Ecklund; many nieces and nephews, and her former son-in-law Larry Hickey of Lowell. She is also survived by her dear friends Kathy O'Connor, Patty Manning, Lois Cullen, and Gloria O'Neil. Ginny was the sister of the late Roger, Gerard, Maurice, Marie, and Edward Turmel, and Jane Barry, and sister-in-law of the late Roger Falkowski, Robert Morin, Lucien Vaillencourt, John Barry, Janice Turmel, Doris Turmel, Ernest Ecklund, Eric Ecklund, and George and Patricia Ecklund. Cecile E. Finneral Lifelong resident of Lowell; 84 LOWELL -- Mrs. Cecile E. (Desharnais) Finneral, 84, a lifelong resident of Lowell, passed away Thursday, April 28, 2016, at her home, after a brief illness surrounded by her loving family. She was the widow of the late Gilbert J. "Huck" Finneral Jr. who passed away in 2013. Born February 26, 1932, in Lowell, she was a daughter of the late Wilfred and the late Rose M. (Morin) Descharnais, attended St. Jeanne D'Arc Grammar School and graduated from St. Joseph's High School. Mrs. Finneral worked as a Group Leader in the Gyro Laboratory for Raytheon Corp in South Lowell for more than 16 years before retiring. She made lifelong home in Lowell, residing in the Pawtucketville Section of the City for more than 32 years, and was a communicant of St. Rita Parish. Time spent with her family brought her the most happiness. She also enjoyed crafts and crocheting. She is survived by her daughter, Dr. Karen Scott and her husband, Brian, of Nashua, NH; her three sons, David and his wife, Robin (Butler) Finneral of Nashua, NH, Daniel Finneral of Salem, NH, and Kevin Finneral of Hudson, NH; four grandchildren, Michelle Toupin and Diane Toupin, both of Lowell, and Adam and Ashley Scott, both of Nashua, NH; her son-in-law, Michael Toupin of Lowell; and many nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Linda Toupin, and a sister of the late Roland Desharnais, the late Raymond Desharnais, the late Richard Descharnais, and the late Jeannette Hanson, the late Rita Perreault.
