Albert Dellucci Sr.

of Manchester, NH, WWll Vet; 93

MANCHESTER, NH -- Albert Dellucci Sr., 93, of Manchester, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at the Elliot Hospital in Manchester.

He was born in Watertown, MA on November 18, 1919 to the late Donato and Josephine (Volpe) Dellucci.

Mr. Dellucci resided in Massachusetts, Nashua, NH, and for the past four years at the Community Living Center at the VA Medical Center in Manchester, NH. Here he enjoyed challenging other residents to games of cribbage and poker and became a master at the game of bingo, even though, as he would say, "I hate the game."
Albert was a World War II Army Veteran and recipient of the Good conduct Medal, European African Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon, American Theatre Campaign Ribbon, and the Victory Medal.

Albert was a master automotive mechanic and made a living working for various dealerships until his heart attack back in the 1960s. One of his shining moments as a mechanic was having the opportunity to work on the Corvettes used in the television series "Route 66". He was an avid sportsman and enjoyed hunting with family and friends. Albert also enjoyed cooking and was in charge of the entrees for many holiday meals. Even when health issues limited his ability to cook, he enjoyed supervising the Christmas cacciatore when his grandson, Anthony took over the honor. Albert will be sadly missed for his warmth, his love of family, his sense of humor and his non-stop mischievous nature.

In addition to his parents, Albert was predeceased by two sons, both Albert Jr.; his loving wife of 63 years Hilda; and six brothers. He sadly leaves behind his son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Jean Dellucci of Woburn, MA; a daughter and son-in-law, Maria and Leon Dutton of Litchfield, NH; a granddaughter and her fiancé, Dalyn Dellucci and Matt O'Conner of Hudson, NH; three grandsons, Daniel Dellucci of Hudson, NH, Anthony Dutton of Manchester, NH, and Lee Dutton of Nashua, NH; and a great-grandson, Monty O'Conner of Hudson, NH.
