Burton E. Salkins Jr.
CHELMSFORD, MA -- Burton E. Salkins, Jr. of Chelmsford, MA formerly of Scottsdale, AZ died unexpectedly Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at Tufts New England Medical Center in Boston.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 52 years Sandra Salkins; one son, Michael Salkins of Dracut, two daughters, Susan Murray of Tyngsboro and Janet and her husband Elliott Stewart of TX; one sister-in-law, Joan Salkins of VT; six grandchildren: Patrick, Ryan, Jack and Megan Murray: Tavin and Vance Stewart and many nieces and nephews.
Born in Lynn, August 1938, he was the oldest son of the late Burton E. Sr. and Mary Salkins and brother to the late Daniel Salkins of CT.
He graduated from Northeastern University in 1961 with a BS in Electrical Engineering.
Burton recently retired from Cellular Specialties of Manchester, NH. He had previously worked at M/A-COM of Lowell and Motorola of Scottsdale, AZ.
He was a member of IEEE Institute of Electrical & Electronics Engineers, The National Assoc. of Amateur Radio, The National Wildlife Federation, The National Audubon Society and The Academy of Model Aeronautics. Burton had a passion for animals, remote control airplanes and cars. He was an avid Ham Radio operator (W1IWT).
SALKINS -- Private services were held on Tuesday.
