Loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather
DRACUT -- James P. "Jimmy" Dunnigan, 82, of Dracut, died Saturday morning, April 12th, at D'Youville Senior Care Center in Lowell. He was the beloved husband of the late Catherine M. (Senior) Dunnigan who died in 1974.
Born in on Easter Sunday in Dracut, Massachusetts, March 27, 1932, the son of the late Joseph T. and the late Germaine (San Cartier) Dunnigan, he was educated in the Dracut school system.
Before retiring, Jimmy was employed as a Maintenance Worker in the Facilities Department at the former St. John's Hospital (now known as Lowell General Hospital/Saints Campus). Previously, he worked in the Sheet Metal Workers Union Local #17 out of Boston and at the Lowell Metal Ceiling Company.
Among his many activities, Jimmy enjoyed gardening and building. He was a former member of the Lowell Boat Club and was a volunteer at the Greater Lowell Catholic Charities Food Bank.
Jimmy is survived by two daughters, Jane C. Perry and her husband, William C. of Dracut, MA, and Janet M. Johnston and her husband, Paul of Milford, NH; a son, Philip T. Dunnigan and his wife, Mary of Billerica, MA; two sons-in-law, Albert St. Peter and Edward Coulter; seven grandchildren, William C. Perry, Jr. and his wife, Jennifer, Kevin P. St. Peter and his wife, Heather, Brian M. Perry and his companion, Amy Bromaghin, Dawn M. Bedard, Christopher F. St. Peter, Alysha M. Dunnigan and her companion, Richard Franklin, and Philip T. Dunnigan, Jr.; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also father of the late Susan M. St. Peter and Anne M. Coulter, and brother of the late Joseph A. Dunnigan.

Friends may call at the O'DONNELL FUNERAL HOME, 276 PAWTUCKET ST. at Fletcher from 4 to 8 P.M. Monday. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass to be celebrated Tuesday morning at ST. RITA CHURCH in Lowell at 9 o'clock. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery in Chelmsford.
