CAMARILLO, California -- Kenneth Eugene Moody, 79, passed away on Tuesday, February 5, 2013.
Ken was born on June 23, 1933, in Waynesville, North Carolina to Leslie and Myrtle Moody. Ken was a gentle, kind, loving and patient husband and father. He had a great love of life and family and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Ken joined the Air Force during the Korean War.
After his service, his employment as a Financial Analyst with Raytheon Company, lead him to Camarillo, CA, where he lived and raised his eldest three children, David, Robert and Sharon.
In 1979, Ken accepted a Raytheon transfer to Massachusetts. He met and married his wife, Sheila, in 1980 and together they raised her two daughters, Robbyn and Errika. He enjoyed sailing, golfing, square dancing and travel. Ken and Sheila spent their life together traveling the world, visiting six of the seven continents and forty-nine of the fifty states. They spent their retirement years driving cross country to spend their winters in Camarillo, California and their summers in Wells Beach, Maine.
Ken is predeceased by his parents, son, David, brothers, Leslie and Jim, and sister, Mohela Medford.
He is survived by his wife, Sheila, son, Robert Moody (Patty); daughters, Sharon French, Robbyn Gindi, and Errika Gravlin; grandchildren, Angela Biehl (Chris), Holly and Tyler Moody, Kegan and Michaella Rogers; great-grandchildren, Ryan and Conner Biehl; sisters, Hilda Leatherwood and Joyce Raby; and sister-in-law, Betty Moody.
MOODY -- In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Christ Church, PO Box 87, 6 Dane St., Kennebunk, Maine 04043. A memorial service is planned to be held in Maine later in the spring.
