CHELMSFORD -- Kenneth R. Burroughs, 79, a lifelong resident of Chelmsford, MA, died Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at Palm Center in Chelmsford, MA.

Born in Chelmsford, he was the son of the late Hobart M. and Edith A. Burroughs. He was educated in the Chelmsford Public Schools.

Kenneth worked for the Chelmsford Highway Department retiring in 2001. He loved trash day and his friends and family never knew what surprise they would receive from him.

Kenneth was an avid bowler. He was known for his passion for the Red Sox and his love for Vermont.

Kenneth is survived by his nieces, Sally Beaulieu of N. Chelmsford, MA, and Melinda Westberry of Westford, MA; and his nephew, Daniel Plourde Jr. of Chelmsford with whom he lived with. He is also survived by many other nieces and nephews; as well as several close friends.

He was predeceased by his sibling Robert Burroughs, Leslie Burroughs, Hobart Burroughs and Phyllis Burroughs.

BURROUGHS -- His Memorial Service will be Fri. at 4 P.M. Visitation after the Service until 6:00 PM. in the Dolan Funeral Home, 106 Middlesex St., Chelmsford, MA 01863. Burial in Fairview Cemetery, Chelmsford. For those that wish, memorials may be made in his name to the LGH Cancer Center, 295 Varnum Ave., Lowell, MA 01854.
