DRACUT -- Nicholas P. Xiggores 88, of Dracut and husband of Georgia (Screpetis) Xiggores died Monday November 12, 2012, in Lowell General Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Georgia (Screpetis) with whom he shared 66 years of marriage with.

Born in Lowell, April 5, 1924, a son of the late Peter and Christina (Fiflis) Xiggores.

An honorably discharge veteran of WW II U.S. Army participating in the Invasion of Normandy at Omaha Beach on D-day.

Prior to his retirement Mr. Xiggores was in the construction field mostly in masonry and carpentry.

He was a member of Assumption of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church in Dracut, and an avid coin collector, and was the Cofounder of the Lowell Post Card Club, and former member of the Lowell Bottle Club, and a member of Ancient York club of Masons, Shriners, and the Acacia Club of Dracut. He was also an avid Bruins fan and loved listening to Greek music. His greatest joy however, came from spending time with his family and friends whom he loved so much.

Along with his wife, Nicholas is survived by his children, Christine Xiggores and her companion Raymond Lemay of Cape Canaveral, FL, Debra Rowe and her husband Joseph of Dracut, Susan Totton and her husband Vernon "Red" of Dracut, Honorary son, James Richard of Dracut and honorary daughter, Mary Rowe and her family. He also leaves his grandchildren, Laurie Dowd and her husband James, Sandra Gamache, Shannon Rowe Beaulieu and her husband Joseph, Deborah Totten and her companion Matthew Pelletier, Nicholas Totten and Shane Sloan, great- grandchildren, Jamie, Christopher, and Megan Dowd, Jason Duchesne and Jeffery Richard, great-great- grandchildren, Gianna Vieria Duchesne and Miley Burgess Dowd, his godson, John Xiggores and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Helen Jeck, Ann Soyden James, Evangelos (Pat) and George Xiggores.

XIGGORES -- Relatives and friends are invited to DRACUT FUNERAL HOME on Thursday from 5 until 8 PM. His Funeral Service will be held from the Funeral Home on Friday at 9 AM followed his Funeral Service at 10 AM in the Assumption of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church, Dracut. Burial will follow in Westlawn Cemetery, Lowell. Arrangements entrusted to the care of DRACUT FUNERAL HOME.
