NORTH CHELMSFORD, MA -- Richard Bell, 71, of North Chelmsford, MA died Tuesday November 6, 2012 after a long illness at Lowell General Hospital in Lowell.

He was the husband of Maureen (Harper) Bell with whom he celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary on July 18th.

He was born in Flushing, NY on August 18, 1941, the son of the late Helen and Louis Bell.

Richard graduated from Lowell High School with the Class of 1959. He served with the United States Marines and was Honorable discharged in 1964.

A resident of North Chelmsford, he was a self-employed plumber for many years until retiring in 2010. In his free time, he loved fishing and hunting at his house in Vermont.

For over 26 years, he was a member of the Pentucket Lodge A.F. & A.M in Lowell. He was an active member of Stony Brook Fish and Game Club in Westford and a member of the American Legion Post 313 in North Chelmsford.

He was a communicant of St. John Evangelist Church in Chelmsford.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Theresa Hillard and her husband, Victor of Nashua, NH; a son, Richard Bell Jr. of New Durham, NH; a step son, Wes McEnany of N. Chelmsford, MA; two brothers Edward Bell and his wife Flora of Tyngsboro, MA and beloved brother Jack Bell of Chelmsford ,MA; a sister Joan Gibson and her husband Campbell of Hudson, NH; and 3 Grandchildren, Sarah Hillard, V. Grant Hillard and Garrett Hillard all of Nashua, NH.

BELL -- Richard "Richie" Bell of Chelmsford, MA died Nov. 6, 2012. Visiting hours Fri. 4 to 8 P.M. with a Masonic Service at 7:00 p.m. at the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME, 106 MIDDLESEX ST., N. CHELMSFORD, MA. A Funeral Service will be held Sat. 8 A.M. with shared memories at the funeral home, followed by a Liturgy of the Word Funeral Service at 9 A.M. at St. John Evangelist Church, 115 Middlesex St., N.
