LOWELL -- Mr. Richard E. Lambert, age 64, a resident of the Centralville section of Lowell, died Thursday, February 21, 2013, at the Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital in Bedford.

Born in Lowell on October 20, 1948, he was a son of the late Robert H. and Marie O. (Rondeau) Lambert. He was educated in the Lowell school system and was a graduate of Lowell High School, and was a parishioner of the former St. Louis de France Church.

Richard served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam Era.

Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a laborer in the Highway Department for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

He is survived by two brothers and a sister-in-law, Raymond E. and Donna M. Lambert of Lowell, and Ronald L. Lambert and his partner, Glenn W. Szegedy of Dracut; two nieces and their husbands, Melanie and Michael Lally of RI, and Melissa and Mark Mistretta of Dracut; a great niece, Hannah Lally; a great nephew, Jordan Lally; also uncles, aunts, cousins, and his dog Tara.
