DRACUT -- Roger A. Cote, 76, died unexpectedly Tuesday, February 4th, at Lexington Healthcare Center. He was the beloved husband of Rita M.A. (Sawyer) Cote, with whom he shared 56 years of marriage.
Roger was born in Lowell, MA on November 2, 1937, a son of the late Evelina (Audy) and Henri Cote. He attended St. Joseph High School in Lowell and later studied at Middlesex Community College, where he received his associates degree. Roger also proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy
during the Vietnam War
as a member of the Seabees.
For many years Roger was employed as a metallurgist for W.H. Nichols (Parker Hannifan) in Waltham.
Roger was a committed and loving father and volunteered his time as a coach for youth baseball and softball when they were young.
Roger was an avid outdoors man who particularly enjoyed year-round fishing, snow mobiling, and spending time at the camp on Lake Winnisqam. He will be remembered as an always happy and generous man, who greatly loved his family, and especially adored his grandkids.
In addition to his wife Rita, he is survived and will be deeply missed by his children; Christopher Cote and his partner Rose of Marlow, NH, Michelle Jasmin and her husband Daniel and Nicolle Wood and her husband Patrick, all of Dracut; 7 grandchildren, Ashley, Hayley, Lindsey, Tyesin and Zoey Jasmin and Cody and Carter Wood; his dear cousin, Robert Palmondon; godchildren Paula Bowden, Elaine Joyce, Michael and Aimee Pelletier, as well as many additional cousins and friends.
The family would also like to Thank the entire VA and Lexington HealthCare staff who took excellent care of Roger during his time of need.
COTE -- Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects on FRIDAY, February 7th from 4 to 8 p.m. at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Ave., Dracut. His funeral will take place from the funeral home on SATURDAY, February 8th at 8 a.m., with his Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 9 a.m. in St. Margurite D'Youville Parish, Dracut.
