Walter E. House, Sr.

CHELMSFORD -- Walter E. House, Sr., 89, a resident of Chelmsford and former Westford resident, died Friday, May 17, 2013, at Sunny Acres Nursing and Rehab Center, after living a long, fulfilling life.
He was the beloved husband of the late Florence (Lemay) House, who died in 1995.
He was born in Chelmsford on June 22, 1923, and was the youngest son of the late Arthur and Corrine (Fecteau) House. He received his education in Chelmsford schools and played football for Chelmsford High School.
Walter proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II
, during which time he fought in several famous battles in the European Theater.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed for over 25 years as a millwright for Raytheon Company.
He was a parishioner of St. Mary Parish in Chelmsford.
Walter's most treasured times in life were those times spent in the company of his loving family. He was an avid sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots.
He is survived by six children, Sharon Redes and her husband, Peter of Hollis, NH, Deborah Orr and her husband, William of Chelmsford, Denise Jose and her husband, Manuel of Londonderry, NH, Tamara Giliberto of Winchester, Walter E. House, Jr. of Lowell, and Gregory House and his wife, Cheri of Clinton, UT; a daughter-in-law, Alison House of Chelmsford; 17 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his son, Mark House.
HOUSE -- Visitation will be held on Monday from
5 until 8 pm at the BLAKE FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen Street, CHELMSFORD. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11 o'clock at St. Mary Church, 25 North Rd., Chelmsford.
