DRACUT -- William G. "Billy" Gauthier, 50, of Dracut, died unexpectedly Saturday morning, April 5, 2014, at Lowell General Hospital-Saints Campus, surrounded by his loving family.

A son of Lea (Grenier) Beaupre and the late William T. "Pops" Gauthier, he was born on May 5, 1963 in Lowell. He received his education at Lowell High School and earned a degree in Accounting from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell.

For more than 25 years he owned Billy's Variety in Dracut, MA, where he was famous for his chicken pies, homemade foods, as well as his catering service. His canteen truck was always a welcome sight throughout the area. In his spare time, he enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, watching the Celtics play, and spending time with his dog, Brandy, who was his pride and joy.

In addition to his mother Lea, he is survived by his seven siblings, Jeanne Fleming and her husband, Thomas, of Chelmsford, Jacqueline Beauregard and her husband, Joseph, of Dracut, Judith Gauthier and her companion, Arthur Hearl, of Ohio, Joanne Janeczko and her husband, Thomas, of Dracut, Thomas Gauthier and his wife, Diane, of Lowell, Arthur Gauthier of Dracut, and David Gauthier of Colorado; his 17 nieces and nephews, Cpt. Andrew Fleming and his wife, Rebecca, Sarah Brown and her husband, Jeremy, Colleen Fleming, Lt. Elizabeth Fleming, Cadet Kevin Fleming, Joseph Beauregard, Mark Beauregard and his wife, Jessica, Kevin Beauregard and his wife, Sarah, Eric Beauregard, Kimberly Janeczko, Matthew, Brandon, Andrew, and Brittany Gauthier, Wayne Sumner, and Hannah Gauthier, his nephew and godson Stephen Janeczko and godson Spencer McKinnon, as well as his close friends Lee and Rich McKinnon and their family; and his beloved dog, Brandy. He also leaves behind many friends and customers he made throughout the years at Billy's Variety.

He is predeceased by his father and best friend, William T. Gauthier, who passed away recently on March 22, 2014.

GAUTHIER -- Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects on Wednesday, April 9th from 4 to 8 p.m. at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Ave., Dracut. His funeral will be held from the funeral home on Thursday, April 10th at 8:45, with his Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. Francis Church, Dracut.
