DRACUT -- William S. Dick, 87, of Dracut, passed away at home on July 29, 2014.

He was the husband of the late Mary (Larrabee) Dick, who passed away in 2000.

He was born on November 1, 1926, in Bayone, New Jersey, the son of William and Helen (Reynolds) Dick.

His family lived in New Jersey, New York, and Rhode Island before settling in Brunswick, Maine, where Mr. Dick graduated from Brunswick High School in 1944. Shortly after graduation, Mr. Dick enlisted in the US Navy and served on the USS St. Paul during WWII. After the war, Mr. Dick became an electronics technician.

In 1953, he married Mary Larrabee and settled in Dracut in 1957. He worked in the electronics industry for 40 years and retired from Microwave Associates in 1987. During his retirement, he pursued his interests, which included amateur electronics and reading.

In his later years, he became passionate advocate of a vegetarian lifestyle.

He is survived by his children, Robert Dick of Dracut, Ronald Larrabee Dick and his wife, Erin of Glenmont, NY, and Nancy Dick of Adams, MA; five grandchildren, Allison Dick of Glocester, MA, Sarah Phillips of Townsend, MA, Rachel Ellis of Snohomish, WA, Brian Ellis of Snohomish, WA, and Benjamin Larrabee of Glenmont, NY; two great-grandchildren, Ava and Cam Phillips of Townsend, MA; a sister-in-law, Barbara Hammond of South Portland, Maine.

Mr. Dick was predeceased by his half brother, Neil MacLean, who died in 1971, and his sister Edith Stackpole, who died in 2001.
