LOWELL -- Alfred Wheeler "Pete" Wilson, 75, a Lowell resident, died Friday September 21, 2012, after a struggle with brain cancer.
The son of Dr. Lee C. Wilson, and Virginia (Wheeler) Wilson, native of Kingston, RI, Pete graduated from South Kingstown HS in 1955. He then enlisted in the US Army, and served as a Paratrooper in the 101st Airborne Division. Upon his discharge he attended The University of Rhode Island and graduated with a degree in English Literature. He went on to become a book editor for Academic Press in New York City. In time, he moved from book editing to computer programming in the greater Boston area.
Passionate about classical music, and reading, Pete is survived by two sons, Timothy, of Annapolis MD, and Benjamin, of Lowell, as well as Truda (Salmon)Wilson, the mother of his children.
The eldest of 3 siblings, Pete will be remembered by his sister Nellie, of New York City, his brother Jon, of Brooklin, ME, his cousins Suzanne Fleisher of Pitman, NJ, and Mary Cobb, of Guilford, CT.
A private memorial service will be held in his honor.
