formerly of Chelmsford; 81

COTUIT, MA -- Anne E. (Connearney) McGrath, 81, a resident of Cotuit, and former resident of Chelmsford died Monday, February 4th. She was the wife of the late Paul H. McGrath, Sr. who died in 1998, and with whom she shared 49 years of marriage.

She was born in Waltham on August 1, 1931 and was a daughter of the late John and Anne (Kiley) Connearney. She received her education in Waltham schools and was a graduate of St. Charles High School in Waltham.

Anne spent most of her life tending to the needs of her home and family.

She was an avid reader and belonged to the Cotuit Book Club, an avid bird watcher, and an avid golfer, which she played at the Holly Ridge Golf Club in Sandwich. She also enjoyed playing bridge. She was a member of the Friends of the Cotuit Library and she volunteered many hours at the Barnstable Senior Center.

Anne is survived by her three children, Paul H. McGrath, Jr. and his wife Susan of Haverhill, Alison J. McGrath of Chelmsford, and Ellen M. Walsh and her husband Jack of Ashland, MA; three grandchildren, Kellee Senic and her husband Boris of Walpole, Kevin Walsh of Ashland, and Tim Walsh of S. Boston; a great- granddaughter, Maggie Senic; a sister-in-law, Alice M. Keefe; and many nieces and nephews, including her niece and special friend Stephanie Parker of Chestnut Hill.

MCGRATH -- Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4 until 8 pm at the BLAKE FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen Street, CHELMSFORD. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 9 o'clock at St. Mary Church, 25 North Rd., Chelmsford. Interment in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Chelmsford.
