LANCASTER -- Arleen L. (LaPan) Locke, 68, passed away Friday, October 6, 2017, in her home, surrounded by her loving family, after an illness.

She leaves her husband of 47 years, Bryan S. Locke; two daughters: Amy K. Locke-Ortiz and her husband, Reinaldo, and Jennifer A. LeBlanc, wife of the late Gregory, who died on July 28, 2017; one grandchild, Zachary Locke-Ortiz; two sisters: Corinne McKenzie and her husband, John, of Norwood, and Patricia Greenwood, wife of the late Tracey, of Holden; nieces and nephews.

Arleen was born in Lowell and raised in Westford, daughter of the late Raymond D. and Ethel S. (Cairns) LaPan. She was a graduate of Westford Academy, Class of 1966, and attended Mount Wachusett Community College.

For several years, she worked as a Secretary at Digital Equipment Corp. She then focused on being a wife and mother while her girls were growing up. Later, she was employed part-time as a Supervisor at the former Hebert Candies, Bolton, before retirement.

A long-time, dedicated member of the Evangelical Congregational Church, Lancaster, Arleen served as a Deaconess. She was a voracious reader, and a true intellect, who enjoyed knitting, crochet, puzzles, and, above all else, spending time with her family, especially her only grandson, Zachary.
