THOMASVILLE, N.C. -- Mrs. Arlene Patricia (Harris) Roux, age 60, died peacefully on June 13, 2017 in hospice care surrounded by her family after a courageous yearlong battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife and best friend of Joseph Charles Roux, with whom they were to celebrate their 32nd wedding anniversary this coming September 21st.

Arlene was born in Providence, Rhode Island on December 5, 1956 to Marcia (Howe-Harris) Foley of Maynard, MA and the late Richard Harris, raised by her mother and her late step father, Bernard Foley in Maynard. She graduated from Maynard High School with the Class of 1974, and attended Boston University.

She had lived in Sandown, NH prior to moving to Townsend, MA in 1984, and then Tewksbury, MA in 1987 to raise her family. She and Joe moved to N.C. in December 2014. While residing in Tewksbury, Arlene was an active member of the Tewksbury Congregational Church, an Advisor of the Tewksbury Wamesit Assembly of Rainbow Girls and was Past Matron of the Billerica Order of the Eastern Star. She also served on several Tewksbury school PAC's and an active member of Tewksbury Youth Football in the 1980's. Since moving to N.C., she was active in the Heidelberg United Church of Christ in Thomasville serving on the Finance Committee.

She worked 20 years of her career in Human Resources with Digital Equipment Corporation in various levels of management and retired as Director, Human Resources of Atlantic Plywood in Woburn, MA.

Besides her husband and mother, she leaves twin daughters, Christine Ann Mello and her husband Steven of Billerica, Jesse Elizabeth Sheehan and her husband Joseph of Chelmsford, MA and Casey Arlene Roux of Tewksbury; two grandchildren, Elyse Stanley and Emily Sheehan; four step-children, Michael Joseph Roux, Nicole Christine Pederson, Elizabeth Ann O'Leary and Joseph Eugene Roux; step-grandchildren, Madison, Lucy, Celeste, Grace, Craig Jr., Emma, Colin, Amelia, and Isabelle, (predeceased by step-granddaughter Alysa Lori); She also leaves a sister, Patricia Hatch of Gardner, MA; four brothers, Michael Foley and his wife Gail of NH, Steven Foley and his wife Laura of NH, Mark Foley of Maynard, and James Foley and his wife Amy of Maynard.

ROUX -- formerly of Tewksbury, June 13. Arlene P. (Harris) Roux. A Memorial Celebration of Arlene's Life will be held on June 24th at 2:00 pm at Wamesit Masonic Lodge on Victor Dr. in Tewksbury. Memorial donations to the Hospice of the Piedmont in High Point, NC will be appreciated.
