of Lowell

LOWELL -- Barbara (Williamson) Colombo, a lifelong resident of Lowell, died Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at her home in Lowell, MA surrounded by her loving family and her cats.

She was the loving wife of Joseph Colombo for 56 years.

Born in Lowell, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Ida (Patoine) Williamson. Barbara was a graduate of Lowell High School with the class of 1953, where she was a Girl Officer.

She was a communicant of St. Margaret's Church.

Barbara retired from Stuarts' Department store in Lowell. She had previously worked at the Strand Theater, the New England Telephone Company, Kings' Department Store, and Mars' Department Store.

Barbara enjoyed dancing and playing Bingo. She was a life time animal lover and loved spoiling her cats, SH*?-Sh*?, Baby and Killer.

Besides her husband she is survived by two sons, Michael and his wife, Nancy Colombo of Newbury, MA, and Stephen and his wife, Frances Colombo of Kingston, NH; one daughter, Cheryl Colombo and her wife, Glynn Gallagher of Lowell; one brother, Howard R. Williamson, Jr., of Pottstown, PA; two brothers-in-law, Anthony Colombo and Donald Denomme; two sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Gray and Catherine Denomme; six nieces, Margaret (Gray) Palmer, Catherine (Gray) Marcangelo, Marybeth (Gray) Sherrin, Anna (Gray) May, Lisa Lemke Cloud and Lianna (Colombo) Hall; three nephews, William Gray Jr., Keith Williamson and John Williamson; three step grandchildren, Nyla Adams, Ryan Sparks and Noel Dionne; and many great nieces and nephews.

She was the sister of the late Shirley (Williamson) Lemke, who died in 1984.

COLOMBO -- Barbara Colombo, died April 9, 2013. Visiting hours Friday. 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral Saturday at 8:30 a.m. from the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME, 106 MIDDLESEX ST., CHELMSFORD, with a funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church in Lowell. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Tewksbury.
