CHELMSFORD -- Benjamin Taylor, 89, a resident of Chelmsford, MA, passed away peacefully March 25, 2013 surrounded by his family.
He was born on September 13, 1923 and was the son of the late James Taylor, Jr. and Consuelo Taylor.
Benjamin served in the United States Army during World War II in the 187th Glider Infantry in the Philippine Islands where he was awarded the Bronze Star. Benjamin and his late wife, Florence, raised their family in Brooklyn, NY and came to live in Chelmsford, MA in the 1990's to be close to their children and grandchildren. Ben had a successful career as a textile salesman in New York City. He loved and served the Lord and was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He loved to play chess and greatly enjoyed music, including playing the piano.
Benjamin is survived by his four children; Benjamin Taylor of Maxwell, NE, John Taylor of Chelmsford, MA, Elizabeth Howell of Chelmsford, MA, and Ellen Kennedy of North Platte, NE, 10 grandchildren; and 4 great- grandchildren.
TAYLOR -- BENJAMIN. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5 to 8 pm at the BLAKE FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen St., CHELMSFORD.
