Beverly A. Bennett

TEWKSBURY -- Beverly A. Bennett, age 87, a lifelong North Tewksbury resident, owner of the former Bennett & Hodge Travel Agency, and faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Tewksbury, passed away at her home on Sunday, May 4, 2014, with family by her side.

Born in Lowell on June 12, 1926, she was the daughter of the late William H. Bennett, Sr. and the late Ethel P. (Barris) Bennett.

Beverly attended Tewksbury schools and graduated from Tewksbury High School in 1944. Following high school, she attended the former Bradshaw Business School of Lowell.

She owned and operated Bennett & Hodge Travel Agency (previously known as Barrow Travel Agency) which was once located in downtown Lowell.

For over 30 years, Beverly worked assisting Greater Lowell businesses, families and individuals in planning their travel itineraries.

In addition, she was a dedicated and tireless volunteer for numerous Greater Lowell organizations including the Salvation Army, the 's Daffodil Campaign, the Lowell General Hospital, the Tewksbury Historical Society, and the First Baptist Church of Tewksbury.

She is survived by her brother, Ralph R. Bennett and his wife, Mary of Tewksbury; sisters-in-law, Shirley B. Bennett of Greenfield, and Susan W. Bennett of Newburyport; her much loved nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews including, John P. Bennett and his wife, Elaine of Tewksbury, Martha L. Tenney and her husband, William of Northfield, Sarah A. Depoian and her husband, Steven of Chelmsford, Joyce R. Bennett and her husband, Stephen of Denver, CO, Peter W. Bennett of Corona, CA, Douglas P. Bennett and his wife, Cynthia of South Deerfield, Lynne A. Emanuelli of Leyden, Jody Nicolson of Newburyport, Holly J. Packer and her husband, James of Stratham, NH, Jonathan W. Bennett and his wife, Marjorie of Newburyport, Allison W. Bennett of Hampton, NH, and Michael D. Bennett and his wife, Jennifer of Newburyport.

Beverly was the sister of the late William H. Bennett, Jr. and George H. Bennett, sister-in-law of the late Dorothy T. Bennett, aunt of the late Susan J. Bennett and Paul Emanuelli, and great aunt of the late Alyssa Nicholson.

BENNETT -- Beverly A. Relatives and friends will be received Monday, May 12, from 2-3 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 1500 Andover St., Tewksbury, immediately followed by her Memorial Service to be held in the Church.
