AYER -- Bruce E. Jones, 60, of Ayer, died unexpectedly Friday, January 31, 2014, at Nashoba Valley Medical Center, Ayer.

Bruce was born in Arlington, March 14, 1953, a son of Myrna (Currie) Jones and the late Earle T. Jones, and has resided in Ayer for nearly 40 years.

He was a 1970 graduate of Reading High School and later continued his education at Salem State College.

He had worked several years as a machinist at Rubb-Air Door Company in Ayer. Prior to that, he worked at Warren Communications Company in Littleton and Groton Country Club.

Bruce was an avid golfer, and was a member of the Ayer Gun & Sportsman's Club. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Besides his mother of Merrimack, he leaves his wife of 31 years, Brenda M. (May) Jones; a brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Debbie Jones of Merrimack; a stepdaughter, Tara and her husband, Bob Bozek of Ayer; his sister-in-law, Rhonda Zambernardi of Groton; five grandchildren, Thomas Bozek, Kelsey Bozek, Andrew Bozek, Max Goodwin Jr., April Goodwin; four nephews, David Mason, Philip Jones, Matthew Jones, Scott Zambernardi; three nieces, Natalie Smith, Danielle Jones, and Samantha Jones.

He was predeceased by his step daughter, Erin Goodwin of Ayer, and his brother, Warren Jones of Merrimack.

JONES -- A funeral service will be celebrated 11 A.M., Wednesday, February 5th at T.J. Anderson & Son Funeral Home, 25 Fitchburg Road, (Rte. 2A), Ayer. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery.
