CHELMSFORD -- Catherine E. (Emery) Swift, 80, of Chelmsford, died Saturday afternoon, March 30, 2013, at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill, MA surrounded by her loving daughters.

She was married to the late William F. Swift Jr. who died on January 2, 2002.

She was the daughter of the late Catherine Emery. Catherine was a Girl Officer at Lowell High School, and graduated with the class of 1951.

She retired from Merck-Medco of Wilmington in 1998. Prior to Merck-Medco, she had worked as a pharmacy technician for 27 years at the Birch Super Drug in Chelmsford.

Catherine was a communicant of St. Mary's Church.

She enjoyed bowling with her friends, and was a member of the Apple Polisher's Bowling League of Lowell. She volunteered with the Day Care Program at the Chelmsford Senior Center. Upon her retirement, she enjoyed traveling to Europe with her family and friends.

Most importantly, she was a devoted and loving mother and nana.

She is survived by her four daughters, Pamela Swift and her husband, Robert Schall, Susan and her husband, George Carwin, Lynne Swift, and Stacy and her husband, Steven MacDonald; one brother, John and his wife, Arlene Emery; five grandchildren, Michael Carwin, Christopher Swift-Perez, Lexi MacDonald, Lindsay MacDonald and Isabella Swift; a niece, Kelly Ann Carroll; and a nephew, Kevin Emery.

SWIFT -- Catherine E. (Emery) Swift, of Chelmsford, MA, died March 30, 2013. Wake Tues. 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME, 106 MIDDLESEX ST., CHELMSFORD, followed by a funeral Mass at 11 AM at St. Mary's Church in Chelmsford. Burial in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Lowell. Memorials may be made in her name to the Merrimack Valley Hospice House, 360 North Ave., Haverhill, MA 01830.
