Daniel 'Dan' Golden
of Merrimac, MA

MERRIMAC, MA -- Daniel "Dan" Golden, 50, of Merrimac, MA, formerly of Lowell, MA, died Saturday, July 26, 2014 at his home, after a short but very tough battle with cancer.

He was married to Brenda Golden with whom he celebrated their 17th wedding anniversary this past June 7.

Born and raised in the Pawtucketville area of Lowell, he was the son of the late Francis P. and Mary R. (Briere) Golden of Lowell. He graduated from Greater Lowell Technical High School with the class of 1981.

He retired from Verizon as a Central Office Technician after 28 years.

He was communicant of St. Rita's Parish in Lowell.

He was an active member and formerly the Union President and Steward of IBEW Local 2321. He was active in his son's sports activities especially as a soccer coach. He was a devoted father to his sons and step daughters, making sure he was involved with all of his children's very active everyday lives.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Matthew and Jonathan Golden, both of Lowell; two step daughters, Erika Brindamour of West Newbury, and Shannon Brindamour of Haverhill; two brothers, Francis P. Golden and his wife, Michelle of Dracut, Michael J. Golden and his wife, Tammy of Hudson, NH; his sister, Pamela Courounis and her husband, Timothy of Concord, NH. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

GOLDEN -- Daniel "Dan" Golden, 50, of Merrimac, formerly of Lowell, MA, died Saturday July 26 at his home. Visiting hours Tuesday 4 to 8 P.M. Funeral Wednesday at 10 AM from the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME, 106 MIDDLESEX ST., CHELMSFORD, with a funeral Mass at 11 A.M. at St. Rita's Parish in Lowell. Burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Tewksbury.
