David Mulno Obituary

David A. Mulno
U.S. Army Specialist

TEWKSBURY -- David A. Mulno, age 23, a lifelong Tewksbury resident, currently serving in the U.S. Army at Fort Bliss, El Paso, Texas, passed away accidently on Sunday, August 12, 2012, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.

Born in Winchester, MA on May 6, 1989, he was the beloved son of Harry S. Mulno, III and Cathy A. (Arnold) Mulno of Tewksbury.

David was raised in Tewksbury, attended Tewksbury schools and graduated from Tewksbury Memorial High School in 2007. David enjoyed participating in the school Robotics Club as well as accepting a computer class internship with his teacher Ms. Delucia. In his younger years, David was a Cub Scout in Karen Ford's troop in Tewksbury and later as a member of Boy Scout Troop 47 of Tewksbury.

Following his high school graduation, David attended Merrimack College and then UMass-Lowell.

In 2010 he enlisted in the U.S. Army and completed basic training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Following basic training, David went on to complete specialized training and earned the classification of 13R Field Artillery Firefinder Radar Operator. David was then assigned to the 212th Fires Brigade stationed at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas. David was proud of his service in the Army, as was his family. David spoke often of his desire to make the Army his career.

David had a great sense of humor, a passion for the outdoors and enjoyed the annual hunting and fishing trips with his father, uncles and late grandfathers. He loved our family camping trips. In addition, he also loved spending time with his friends and family at his maternal Grandparent's cottage in NH, having his friends over in the back yard for weekend fire pit get-togethers, competing with on-line video gamers, fixing computers, and riding his motorcycle with his military friends at Fort Bliss.

In addition to his parents, Cathy and Harry, David is survived by his sister, Alyssa J. Mulno of Tewksbury; his paternal grandmother, Cynthia E. (Olson) Mulno of Tewksbury; his maternal grandmother, Jean F. (Schuren) Arnold of Burlington; many aunts, uncles, and cousins including, Linda and Joe Spinale of Woburn, MA, Jane and Robert Arnold of Canaan, NH and their children Sam, Elizabeth and Joey Arnold, and their married children Mike and April Arnold, Greg and Angela Arnold, William and Amy Arnold; Philip Mulno of Hawaii, Paul Mulno and Debbie Epps of Lowell, MA, Glenn and Debbie Mulno of Needham, MA and their children Daniel and Jason; LeeAnn and Dick Spiess of Bar Harbor, ME and their daughter Cindy and her husband Steve Lawson of Bar Harbor, ME; also many more cousins and second cousins.

I do not know the family but I do know the pain they are going through. My son, also 23, died on his motorcyle on Aug.1, 1982. It has been 30 years but the pain is still there. We lived in Chelmsford at the time. God bless you.
