Beloved wife, mother and grandmother

TYNGSBOROUGH, MA -- Dorothy F. Ventura, 65, formerly a longtime resident of Lowell, died August 20, 2013 at the Lowell General Hospital.

Born and educated in Somerville, a daughter of the late Helen R. (Mortali) and Charles Mitrano.

Dorothy lived in Lowell for 35 years. She worked as a Housekeeper for Howard and Johnson's for 25 years.

Dorothy was an original member and officer of the Girls Independant Softball League. She enjoyed visiting the beach and eating her much loved seafood, along with watching her four sons play numerous sports.

Dorothy is survived and will be deeply missed by her husband, Peter M. Ventura of Tyngsborough; 3 sons, Peter Ventura and his wife Colleen, Gregory C. Ventura, and Timothy Ventura and his wife Ana; 6 wonderful grandchildren, Dominic, Jordan, Paige, Matthew, Colby and Jacob.

She was predeceased by her son Matthew Ventura.

VENTURA -- Relatives and friends may pay their respects from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, August 22nd at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Ave., DRACUT. Her Funeral will take place from the funeral home at 8 a.m. on FRIDAY with her Funeral Mass to follow at 9 a.m. at St. Mary Magdalen Church, Lakeview Ave., Tyngsborough. Burial will take place in Edson Cemetery, Lowell.
