Dorothy J. "Dot" (Boyle) Wilkins Obituary
Dorothy J. 'Dot' (Boyle) Wilkins
Lifelong resident of Lowell

LOWELL -- Dorothy J. "Dot" (Boyle) Wilkins, a lifelong resident of Lowell, died unexpectedly February 11, 2013, at Lowell General Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Frederick A. Wilkins with whom she would have celebrated 50 years of marriage on May 4th.

Dorothy was born on July 12, 1939, the daughter of the late Thomas and Ruth (Lee) Boyle. She graduated from the former Keith Hall Catholic High School.

In her earlier years, Dorothy worked as a switchboard operator for Wang Labs, and the former St Joseph's Hospital. She retired from the Lowell Public Schools, where she was a para-professional at the Robinson and Daley Schools.

After retiring, Dot enjoyed the hospitality of the Glenview Restaurant where she developed numerous friendships and took a genuine interest in the staff and their families.

Dot had a heart of gold. Her daughters would like to acknowledge that same gift of generosity that she instilled.

In addition to her husband, she leaves her daughters, Cheryl A. Wilkins of Lowell, and Wendy J. Wilkins of Taunton; her sister-in-law, Mae Ellen Wilkins of Lowell; her brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Judy Boyle of Nashua, NH; several nieces and nephews, and her "grand-dog", Woody.

She was pre-deceased by her sister, Mrs. Henry (Rita) Corcoran, her in-laws, Ralph and Marjorie Wilkins, and her dear cousin, Jeanette Morse.
